Rain confirmed?

Ok understood. Wow? I can't believe you don't like it being a fan of MK and all but, like you said whatever.

God of War is nothing like Mortal Kombat outside of the fact that both games are very gory. And that Kratos is basically Quan Chi on steroids.

GOW's gameplay is atrocious. The button smashing had me screaming at inanimate objects and my boyfriend at the time. And the characters are unlikeable. And by unlikeable I don't mean "I can't be friends with these people in real life." I mean that they're piss poor characters. Kratos is a raging vagina that screams a lot. So you killed your wife and kid... That's what you get for being a douche bag. Your fault.

Thats the whole thing. If you follow the story all the way through you learn what truly made him the way he was. He is an anti hero who does regretful things, part of his intrigue. Also his ultimate defiance against those same puppet masters that led him. He was always a loyal soilder and a puppet but, its ironic that the very entities(gods) that led him were imperfect. And I disagree. You can mostly relate this game to MK because people play both games to see the plot twist and the gore. And essentially old MK can be called a button masher to by those that don't like it. I am done talking about GOW but I just had to make a point since you were bringing Kratos up in a non Kratos thread. I love MK and GOW. People that hate MK have a similar argument in it being a button mashing blood fest. Thats the point. And Kratos is in no way like Quan just because he has a white face. NUFF SAID.

Uhm I didn't bring him up to start a Kratos conversation. It was just pieced into my post to make a point. Not start another Kratos flame/support rally. That blood is on your hands, pal.

And MK and GOW still have very little in common.

Never played the game, but a lot of people love it so I don't see how you could hate it THAT much...

A lot of people hate it as well. Who woulda thunk. Nice picture of Kratos, by the way.

That's odd...you're the only person who i've heard not liking the game, especially to that extent.

The 2 PSP games are the same story...

Looks to me like you're one of a very small minority, and that can be chalked up to it just not being your style of game, a biased playthrough making you hate the game, or you just not giving it a chance. Either way, the facts are there, and the overwhelming majority love the series and Kratos. So it would make sense, especially given that the whole setting around his game is a lot like Mortal Kombat(The mythos, magic, and super human qualities etc. as well as the obvious mature dark and gritty setting.). that he isn't that bad of a choice for a guest character. The ONLY people I have seen dislike this, are some of the MK fans who are always uhappy with something, and have this perfect image they want MK to live up to that caters to their liking. Every other gamer or more open minded MK fan, absolutely love the idea. I'm indifferent, but I can see all the positives in it, and I can understand why Boon and Co.(They are big gamers themselves and love other franchises) would want the character in their game for fun.

I've never even played the GoW series, but even I can understand the appeal some people could have seeing their favorite characters from different franchises rip each other's heads off. It's a cool little feeling when two ficticous characters lock horns, especially when it's in an awesome balls to the wall game known as Mortal Kombat. Now a full blown crossover I could see why people are upset...it takes away the story and makes the attention more 50/50 between franchises. But Kratos has no attention other than the fact that he's a selectable character in Versus mode. You still get a true MK game with a continued dedicated canon story, and everything that makes MK...MK. It's Mortal Kombat...with Kratos on the side if you want him. No biggie.

Thank you I couldnt have said it better myself. Kudos to you. And to all the ones saying that this thread has been dedicated to outside things more than the topic, its only becuase it was swayed in this direction and the point needed to be made, especially when someone makes a biased comment with no backing.

Enough Kratos talk; this thread is not about Kratos. There are plenty of other threads relegated for arguing in circles about how pissed you are for his inclusion in the game or how whiny you think people are for being pissed about his inclusion in the game. This discussion does not need to spill out everywhere else on the forum.

I reiterate, if he does get revealed its going to be like dumping a full pitcher of Kool-Aid on a Bee's nest. As far as Rain goes again, I would like to see something more Ninja less Prince and maybe playing both sides.

What does that have to do with what I said? I'm just requesting that people not take their lengthy, meandering discussions of this topic into threads that have nothing to do with said topic. I know people are emotionally charged, I know shit will hit the fan, and I know over-spill will happen, but we don't need to derail existing discussions for people to have their voices heard. 'Tis all.

All the important male ninjas in MK:
Sub-Zero
Scorpion
Reptile
Noob-Saibot
Ermac
Smoke
Rain
(I don't mention Chameleon)

If I had to choose one of these seven characters not to be in MK9 it would be Rain. If I had to choose between Sheeva and Rain to take the last slot I would prefer the Shokan.
You guys get what I want to say? I don't hate Rain. But I don't want any other character to be not in MK9 because of the purple ninja.
The best thing would be if there are all MKT characters in MK9 (without double Subbys and one version for Smoke). But Rain is the character I would choose first to not making the cut into the final roster.

I agree completely, if Quan Chi is indeed part of the initial 26, then one person from the trilogy roster has to be cut, assuming bosses and sub bosses are not playable/part of the initial 26. Now i indeed have love for the ninjas, they are my favourite aspect of Mortal Kombat, but if Quan Chi is part of the 26 and one trilogy character has to be cut, it should be rain. Why? We need variety. Without rain, there is 6 ninjas (excluding chameleon and assuming smoke is human) and their stories are more developed compared to rain's. That is more than enough ninjas for the game. I say they should give Sheeva a chance because we need at least one playable shokan thats not beefed up like goro and kintaro. As for the sub bosses, I hope they are not playable, but if they are, i hope they are unlockable and have to be chosen off screen like how Shao Kahn and Darkseid were from MK vs. DC.

I'm not going to lie guys when the Kratos thing came out I was like meh hope they make it work...Mind you I never played any of the GoW games up to that point. I went to a mates house yesterday to play the 3rd one (the final one). It was AMAZING...the moves he uses are brutal, gory, creative and kinda Mortal Kombat-esque, some even resemble fatalities...I hope I don't get shot down for this but as long as he is not involved in the storyline (confirmed) he will be a pretty good DLC addition, keep in mind this is coming from a die-hard MK fan who's played almost every game.

C'mon bro this thread is about Rain not Kratos. Take that to the Kratos thread.

Haha my bad just saw his name...going back to the topic of the thread I don't see a reason to leave Rain out and include Stryker who is far less popular

I beg to differ. Stryker's fan base has grown quite consistently. I'd say that Rain and Stryker are about even in the want and hate debacle. HOWEVER The mk team have said they LOVE Stryker, so if anyone was gonna get cut and it was between Stryker or Rain, Stryker would win over just because the mk team prefer Stryker.

I found it hilarious how that kid was all pissy because his favourite character wasn't in it. I mean, really? Should we all just drop whatever we are doing and run to add Rain because YOU like him?

OMG GUYZ BRB GOTTA PUT RAIN IN THE GAME SO THIS 12 YEAR OLD CAN STOP WETTING HIS PAMPERS.
