I never worked at Midway Games, not even been paid by them either. I also despite what he says don't intend to change that in the near future, while I really think NetherRealm Studios is awesome place to work. I see no career advancement for me there currently. I am an senior level iPhone app development and there is no need for someone like me at NetherRealm at the moment. In the future? Who knows, but right now I'm not looking at an agenda to work there. By saying I'm "Not a real fan" and that I have my own "agenda" I guess 16 years of MK coverage is not enough to be a real fan I guess. Five years is double the "one or two" years he claims to have under me.

He also makes assumptions that I haven't met face to face with Warner PR. Not quite true actually, but anyways.

I took WB's site because as you can see in this thread, I UNDERSTAND their situation and how the machine works. I've been in and out of the gaming media for 16 years, it's a messy place and I was just trying to share some knowledge.

He also claims no other fansites agrees with me and everyone is on his side wanting anarchy? That is actually news to me.

I also loved how I have been preaching equality, and he rubbed into my face how he has things better than we've had it. Not very nice from my perspective. Not at all.

I think you guys are doing a phenominal job here at TRMK.
That being said; with success comes jealousy.
Sometimes it's just better to let others look like fools, on their own, than getting caught up in that mess.
By being the "adult" in this situation, he'll look like a fool.

The silent treatment works. :-)
 
A lot of the comments here are pretty uncalled for - what, it's not like he killed your parents or anything. :\

If he's not worthy of discussion why is this one of the most active threads in the forum at the moment?

Dude, why do you care? Seriously if youre just here to post on why you love Luke so damn much, youre in the wrong place, get on the TMK forums. youre not gonna change any opinions made on this site by standing up for him. If you dont like it, ignore it, and let the rest of us be.

His comments were uncalled for, and he's gonna end up making it harder for ALL of the fansites, which makes it harder on ALL of us, too.. I understand his plight - he feels that his service as a media outlet should grant him some special treatment. It DOES (I don't have anyone at WG/NRS emailing me or sending me free shit), but he's in a niche that doesn't make this a sensible option for promoting this game. I mean, he's been doing this for 11 years and STILL doesn't understand how marketing works?

The guy's a crybaby who needs to get thicker skin and he needs to look at the bigger picture: GAMING IS A BUSINESS. WB spent a pretty penny on the rights to MK and they're paying NRS even more to make this game, so they're gonna use every outlet to maximize popularity because THAT'S HOW THEY MAKE THAT MONEY BACK.

While Luke may do this for fun and because he's a passionate MK fan, he needs to understand how this shit works and look beyond his passion for MK.

Haha no I was speaking of the overdubs. Somebody made a great one about MKHD recently, it was hilarious. It's posted on the forum here somewhere actually.

Very true. I appreciate him coming here, too. I'm also hoping he'll relay our comments to Luke and help him see the error of his ways. Luke's a good guy to have on your side since he's a bulldog that'll put people in their place, but he needs a leash so that he doesn't bite at every sign of conflict.

Oh no, I don't know Luke personally or over youtube, and I didn't come here to argue his case specifically. Besides, if you want him to see your comments, I doubt you need to do anything. The fact that he made a video where he read out some of Pat's comments from this thread pretty much says that he reads this thread, and probably browses TRMK as well.

And yes Eks, I think that some of his comments were uncalled for too. I think he had some valid points, though; but he probably should have waited until mid-January to make that rant, like Kamal said earlier I believe.

Yeah, he's got a reason to be aggravated, but I don't think anything short of giving him the preferential treatment he's upset about would've kept this from surfacing eventually. As I said, he's had enough time to learn the ropes of the biz, and if he hasn't figured it out by now, I doubt he ever will. If you're gonna do something out of passion, you can't expect anything more than emotional gratification in return.
