i think he should be comfirmed
and also
i think its mortal kombats turn to try to do a Bruce Lee(which is liu kang)and show tekken and street fighter a better and violent bruce lee clone
instead of the same ol' long hair with black and red pants
i am a BIG liu kang fan and he is my favorite chacarcter but please new design
and bring back his unique bruce lee noise
 
I think they should cancel the long hair and bring back the short hair from MK2, but you cant get rid of the red and black pants and the red headband bro, its too iconic! Sure hes modelled off of bruce lee, but he shouldnt be exactly like him, that would ruin the image of the liu kang we've come to love over the years. But i agree, they should make liu kang more violent, that would be totally badass

And about the bruce lee noise - HELL YEAH! they screwed up so hard by cancelling it in mk vs. dc, so please NR studios, BRING IT BACK!

hmmmm a violent liu kang like bruce was in the movie where revenge was the only thing on his mind......interesting i will like to see that
 
Aside from his mk3 fatality the while inner fire thing his fatalities have sucked. Let's hope they change that.
 
I definitely agree about the iconic red/black pants and headband, very iconic, although they did get away with him being similar to Bruce Lee in MK1 (where he looked totally different).

I'd like to see Liu Kang with spiky hair if they're going to go short. We have yet for a spiky haired MK character (besides Frost...and Jarek's remake to an extent).
 
Liu Kang is one of my favorite if not my favorite character. They should either give him the black and white alternate from mk4 or they should give him they bruce lee look from mk1

LOL, nahh man Jann Lee in Dead or Alive looks awesome with it, but liu kang is a monk people, spikey hair would look weird and shit.

I seriously believe they should keep MK2 costume and hair with a little tweaks here and there, perfect liu kang in my opinion. Theres too many bruce lee look alikes in video games man, when you think of marshall law, youre immediately like "oh shit, bruce lee" Liu kang is an icon himself, he was made into an even bigger icon after the first movie came out, therefore he should have his own look, like he always had past MK1 and not another Bruce Lee wannabe/lookalike, cuz that would seriously ruin his image.

but at least give him some bruce lee features and fighting mix with his iconic clothes
 
I could swear he is going to have short hair... and I hope a complete look like the MK1 and MK2 Liu Kang :)

As many of you already know... it's just too similar to compare the shadow of the locked character in themortalkombat.net with this picture :)

Are you referring to the iconic image based off of Bruce Lee? Dropping the aspect that made him iconic in the first place is the last thing you want to get rid of. Now, for an alternate costume i definitely want to see something original.

No im referring to the iconic image that is his unique self, although he is modelled off of bruce lee, hes not like the bruce lee wannabes of fighting games - marshall law for example. if you think of liu kang, you automatically picture dude with red bandana and red and black striped pants, champ of mortal kombat, bicycle kick, etc. but if you were to think of marshall law, youll be like oh yeah the bruce lee look alike. Thats what im trying to get at, im against making him EVEN MORE bruce lee like, as some people in this thread have stated, because it will ruin the image of what he is today, and it will turn him into another bruce lee wannabe.

Exactly. There are enough Bruce Lee looking characters out there, we don't need another one, that just isn't creative. It would be stupid to make Liu another Lee clone. I mean, what the hell, is it because he is asian and is in martial arts so he has to look like Bruce Lee? That's dumb.
