I like the way Reptile looks, and sure you could say he looks like a turtle/bird, but he looks more reptilian than anything imo. He seems to be a mashup of multiple reptilian features, which I think is great. Not sure if any of you have any knowledge of how different reptiles look, but here's a few images that prove he doesn't look too far off from an actual reptilian creature, rather than a bird.
Notice the shape of the head, and the placement of the eyes, is very similar to that of Reptile's in the game.

And let's not forget that Reptile was originally depicted as this:
The shape of his head there is very similar to his MK9 one. His MK9 one is just a little more human shaped, in order to make the whole "disguised as a human" believable. Lizards have small teeth, not long teeth, so I don't get the desire to see him have these long sharp teeth. And finally, for the record, even though his MK:SM look was cool, his MK9 look looks much more like a reptilian creature than his MK:SM one did. In MK:SM, beyond his mouth, eyes, hands, and feet...he had all the features and stature of a regular human. Which just made for a very odd looking thing. He looked more like a deformed human mutant, than a reptilian race disguisable enough as a human.
Anyways...Sure he hasn't had a lot of attention, but neither have a lot of other characters. I find the characters with less attention, to be the ones I am more excited to play. Everytime a character gets a lot of attention like Sub, Scorp, Mileena, and most recently Liu...they just get less interesting. Not that it takes away from them, but there's more mystery and mystique to those who haven't been exposed as much. That's how I feel anyways. I anticipate those who are teased, but not exposed to the point where we have seen everything from them.
