Why does everyone hate Stryker?

I have a love-hate relationship with Stryker. I think a lot of people have a similar beef with him that they do with Cage in that he disrupts the brutal feel of MK. I really liked Stryker until his design overhaul in MK:A. I'm not passing any judgment (good or bad) on his MK2011 look/moves until I play as him myself.

Not really.
Stryker is on the top of MY shit list, too.
Along with Jarek and Frost.
I know that Sheeva is your favorite TJ, but I couldn't stand her in UMK 3.
That's just my opinion.
MK 9 just wouldn't feel the same without either Stryker or Sheeva.

It's not that everyone all of the sudden loves Stryker.
Seeing the fighting engine, damage effects, X-Ray technology and smooth gameplay in MK 9, people are willing to give him a secong chance.

I'm one of those people that completely HATES Stryker, and wouldn't have shed a tear if he wasn't in MK 9.
Who knows, for all we know, he may end up being a pretty well-balanced character in MK 9.

If he still ends up being a shitty character in MK9, then I can say "Oh, well. Atleast I gave him a chance. He still sucks."

He was one of the characters i played alot in MK3 and UMK3.
 
i just don't care for stryker to much. cool name but he's a Cop. not many people like cops

i dont hate or like stryker is all.
 
I've never hated Stryker, and I've never really understood the hate toward him, but I got into Mortal Kombat a few years after MKT was released, so I always saw him as an original character, so he never seemed out of place. At most I was indifferent toward him.

In the last few months, I started using him more in UMK3 and he's actually a damn good character, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what they do with him in the new game.
 
It's good to see I'm not the only one excited that he is in. Someone mentioned something about him protecting the streets from all of Kahns warriors and I think thats an awesome idea. It makes him seem like a lone warrior who is out there to protect earth realm and just trying to do the right thing.

Though I don't care for Stryker in general, I started to use him at one point and found that he was actually a fairly good character so I agree with you on that one. Still kinda generic, though.
 
I don't hate Stryker, like almost everybody else I'm netural about him.
but i am somewhat excited to see that he's in the game, cause i really do want to like him and use him more

Stryker is a cool character that got looked down because apparently he's the Batman of Mortal Kombat...

"I got no special moves, so I guess I'm not going to be loved that well."

Well, I love Stryker. He was a beast in MK3/UMK3... not sure why too many people dislike this character a lot. He's not that bad of a character if you actually played as him.
 
I never liked him because he felt out of place to me. I love MK because of the diverse characters, robots, demons, lizard-men etc.. I almost never use the regular human characters in fighting games, in Tekken I use King and Armor King, in Street Fighter I use Blanka and Akuma, in Marvel vs Capcom I use Venom. Seeing a regular cop using guns and bombs in a game where everyone is using fireballs and icebeams, just felt weird to me *shrugs*

There's only 1 BAD ASS MK character with freezing powers.
His name is Sub Zero.
Frost felt like a clone character of an already GREAT character, TO ME.

The only good thing about Frost was the cosplay done by Marie Claude Bourbonnais.

Never been a big fan of Stryker...I mean MK has always been painfully 90's and Stryker somehow manages to be more 90's than the rest of the game combined.

Dark sunglasses? Check.

Colorful Too-tight shirt? Check.

Backwards Baseball Cap? Check.

Homeboy might as well have had a looney-toons(C) jacket with Road Runner dunking a basketball while listening to smells like teen spirit (at least in previous incarnations)

Ahh well, the fingerless gloves and the ridiculous snarl more than make up for it.

Stryker, my good friends is 1993 in human form.

Also, I see stryker is suffering from yougblood's disease in that shot.
