who is the fastest drummer in the music company

Nah, most people say Joey from Slipknot say because they don't listen to much extreme metal. He's really good, I'm not slagging him, but I don't think he's the best. There's just too many to name, honestly, but even speaking of who's the fastest, Joey's nowhere near that.

Listen to Flo from Cryptopsy, now that guy's not only one of the fastest drummers I've ever heard, but also one of the best. That shit's the closest thing I've heard to controlled chaos. It's incredible.

Another guy who comes to mind is the drummer Kataklysm has now. I only have their last CD, so I know very little about them, and I can't say that their guy's the best drummer out there, but there's spots on the CD with him doing these sonic-speed blast beats for like a minute straight that just blow me away. That guy's like a machine.

Now, as for my personal favorite drummer (not necessarily the best or the fastest) I have to pick Raymond Herrera from Fear Factory. Since I started listening to them I've yet to hear a guy who can rock the double-bass like him. That guy is a machine.

I would say Trym of the bands Emperor and Zyklon, although I preffer Emperor cuz they have a much more progressive and complex sound compared to most other Black Metal bands.
he's friggin awesome on Promethious and IX Equalibrium.

lol this thread has pretty much separated the real metal fans from the passing ones. i agree with deathcore, fear factory have an amazin drummer (and in my opinion since dino left its the only thing they have goin for them). the drummer from bigdumbface was pretty awesome at times, and i love the drumming in static-x, its really mechanical sounding. probably tho, my favourite drummer would be mike from faith no more/ozzy. faith no more were one of the bands of my youth, and one of the first drum beats i think of is always the intro to 'we care a lot'. he may not be fast but he's fucking good

Im bumping, i know.

Deathcore, its amazing to see another death metal fan...Cryptopsy is amazing. And I hang out with Terrence from Suffocation, so I am so cool.

But yea, if you guys are looking for a good death metal band, check out my friend's bandREVENANCE

Damn, I didn't know you were into death metal, either, that's awesome. Honestly, I haven't been into it for too long a time, but I'm getting into it more and more as I'm able to find more stuff (which can be difficult).

Being buds with a guy from Suffocation, though... damn, that's pretty fucking metal.

Don Henly of The Eagles

haha, j/k

really its Phil Collins from Genesis

Nah, still kidding

I'd have to Say Carter Beauford of DMB currently

and in the past it was Neil Peart of Rush. So many drums and so little time but he managed to hit them all damnit! Plus, he could play musically and other percusive instruments aside from the trap set. An all around god of drumming.

Yea, like its kinda nuts how we met him. We were chilling at my friends house and his new tenant was moving in. He told us we were going to freak out when we saw who it wased it was going to be like an old friend or someone that we knew randomly. When we saw it was Terrence friggin Hobbes we pretty much crapped ourselves. The thing is that we had seen them like a week before that and we got to talk and chill with him for a little bit, so he came up to us like we were old friends. Now im not star struck, but its still pretty cool to say that hes my friend.

and what program do you use to Dl music?

I find that soulseek has the best selection of files for this type of music.

Oh, and you have to listen to Skinless. incredible band.

I don't download much, by "finding more stuff" I really meant CDs. I usually discover bands by listening to the Music Choice metal channel on DirecTV. At any rate, I've been using Kazaa Lite (the one with no spyware) for a while, though I haven't logged on in a long time. I did find some Cryptopsy songs on it that I downloaded before I managed to get a couple of their CDs, but overall, I dunno, it's probably not that good for finding extreme music.

I will check out Skinless, though.

EDIT: I just checked out some sample tracks on CDNOW, and I can tell you right now that's definitely the kinda shit I want to hear. I love that brutal grinding death stuff. I'll definitely have to keep an eye out for their CDs the next time I go to a decent record place. Thanks for the recommendation!

A few more bands that are pretty hard to find, but are pretty damn brutal none the less:Circle of dead children, Dying Fetus, Internal Bleeding, Neurosis, morbid angel, dehumanized, 100 demons...thats about it for now.

and this is a good site to find some of these artists CDs online, for rather inexpensive prices Relapse Records

Yeah, I already have a couple Dying Fetus CDs, they're just about my favorite death band. Morbid Angel, of course, they're classic. I only have Blessed Are the Sick but I plan on picking up a few more when I can find 'em. Thanks for the link too.

OH MY GOD STOP TYPING LIKE A 12 YEAR OLD!!!

I second that.

My vote's for John Bonham of Led Zeppelin. He had his own, offbeat style, and could probably be listed among the fastest. It's a shame he died young, really.
