whats a good character for my play style?

when i play fighting games i like to be on the offensive with very little down time and big hits. Example, i use akuma and gouken in sf4. Ive been playing around with some characters in mk but have not really found that same fast paced in your face heavy hitter. is there one or is this not the game for me? lol please help!!!!!
 
Liu kang, his combos are easy to pull off and leads to 30%+ juggles. His corner loop does 40%+ and it's only one string looped over and over.
 
Jax Might be a good fit for you. Johnny Cage is seriously fast but isn't a big hitter. Nightwolf is another heavy hitter that can play really nice up close.
 
Ive given some consideration to smoke. he hits fast and has great utility. my only problem is everytime i win with him i get all kinds of hate mail about being a scrub player. this legit or haters gonna hate?

Haha, i think hate mail will come with scorpion and smoke. also depends on how you're playing, if you're just doing his simple 123 combo, and teleporting on block, expect the hate mail to roll in on a daily basis.
 
Smoke is no doubt one the best if not the best character in the game.
Also fastest in the game but his attacks are still punishable.
Haters always say that when they loose to a "cheap character"
If you win with Sheeva people will still hate.
Theres always going to be haters
 
yeah im not a 123 combo guy. as we speak im hitting 14-15 hit combos with him. that smoke bomb launch is soooooooooo amazing. anyone know a good way to time it as they are falling to the ground? seem to miss a lot.

I wouldn't say that. I think Kung Lao, and Liu Kang are above smoke. Liu has relentless pressure, can combo after his xray, his simple combos all leads into 10+ juggles that does ton of damage.

Kung's spin which is great as a wake up attack that beats almost everything, and has alot of options with low hat throw, teleport shenanigans with throw/overhead/kick options that leaves you to guess correctly, and on top of that his combos are high dmg.
 
I like challenging more technical characters but far as your description goes yea id say Smoke, he is my 2nd favorite character in the game. He is the closest to Akuma in the game you will get im pretty sure.

Kano & Mileena are my two favorite characters right now, liking there tag comp a lot can't wait to try it out online.

i tried out kung lao. im running into smoke what i ran into with him. in theory they do a nice amount of damage but for some reason i never get an opening to do any good combos. they just block EVERYTHING lol

Do alot of footsie poking. I main Noob Saibot who basically has no combos mid-screen and heavily relies on his specials, with Kung do a simple 123 string into low hat throw for some mind games, soon they'll be expecting that low attack and you can just rush in with a throw. His dive kick is also amazing against full screen projectile spammers and can close distances fast.

i got cursed @ 4 using kitana's alternate :P who *****es over an outfit?? its not my fault i like 2 look good slicing ppl :D

try johnny cage, he's fast. i use kitana because her air combos are brutal, fear me!! ^,..,^
