1. First things first....NO TAG MODE! Why? It's like the best thing about MK in my opinion. Trying to figure out which two characters are the deadliest combinations was half the fun.
You're one of the few who played it. NRS didn't bring it back because not enough played it. I only played it in ladder with my brother, and that was fun, to be fair, but it just wasn't popular.
2. I don't like Sub-Zero's X-Ray set up. Really a parry? BOOOOOOOO
It's an optional parry. You can hold the X-ray buttons to parry or you can let go and do the charge. Basically, it's exactly like in MK9 except you parry if they hit Sub while he's frozen.
7. Lastly, I'm a tad bit concerned that we will not get enough modes. I mean, removing Tag Mode is sort of taking a step backwards. Don't ya think???
Personally, no. I never used tag mode. There is still plenty of modes. Hell, there's more than MK9. We have story mode, three different challenge towers that always change, online mode with new modes and factions war, choose your destiny ladder mode with five different modes (including endless tower), test your luck and test your might, and the usual versus, practice, etc.

I was hoping to try out "Grandmaster" or "Cryomancer" to get away from the whole "MK9 zoning" Sub-Zero and use more of a rushdown Sub-Zero.
Grandmaster is rushdown? To me, it seems exactly like MK9 Sub-Zero, except with some new tricks (throwing the clone, clone can eat projectiles) and, of course, the added mobility everyone in the roster is getting thanks to the stage interactables and run feature.
Anyway, yeah, Sub-Zero's X-ray works as a parry, but also like his MK9 X-ray. You can hold it to parry or you can let go for the charge. I've seen this several times in footage and I believe there are Sub-Zero impressions from Kombat Tether and on Test Your Might that verify this.
