What a "Generation" is in Mortal Kombat

In yesterday's Twitch stream, Netherrealm was talking about how Goro's been the MK Champion for nine generations, and questioned how long a generation is. One of the team said, "A long time."

BUT, there actually is a specific quantifiable amount of time. I did the research and can tell you precisely how long a generation is, at least the way Mortal Kombat uses it. Here is what I've found out....

Well, considering that there's been 10 tournaments, 9 of them that Goro has been a champion of, over 500 years, then a generation would be 50 years. At least in MK terms. Though MK Conquest isn't canon, it is supposedly taking place a bit over 500 years ago where The Great Kung Lao defeats Shang Tsung, and is then defeated, and killed, in the next tournament by Goro.

it's kinda funny how the guys didn't know the answer....500 / 10 = 50 != "a long long time"
