Was Kabal's 2nd fatality toned down?

hi new member here, and I was wondering if anyone noticed something lacking about Kabal's 2nd fatality "It Takes Guts". Here's a vid:


The first time I saw this fatality, I thought that after he planted his hooks into the victims intestines, he was gonna do a Nomad rush past his opponent, then the victim would spin all around while thier intestines whirled out like yarn... BUT NOPE, the victim just fell right down. Very disappointing.

I don't know if NRS missed the chance to make this fatality better or PURPOSELY toned it down (This was the fatality that got it banned in Australia).

Anyone else notice this?

Even when this fatality was leaked via Australia banning details it was the same as the video.
Don't know where you heard the nomad dash part, but it was never meant to be.
 
IMO, I thought that ripping out your opponents intestines and letting them slowly and helplessly slide down a pair of hook swords to the ground was quite brutal and malicious enough.
 
I thought this was supposed to be the rebirth of over the top in MK. Most of the characters fatalities in this game were pretty lack luster too. Most of the cast just recycled dismemberings, many of them were not even creative.
 
Oh god not this again.

Just search the forums for fatality complaints.
Read the 4 month old arguments and pretend you're in them :)
 
I think Dude Meister is right, I'm pretty sure when they first announced Kabal, they said that would be one of the fatalities. Idk I remember hearing that some where

That's true, I mean there ARE some pretty over the top, gruesome fatalities (Noob's Make A Wish)...however I do agree with your comment about the recycled dismemberments. You would think they would have come up with a few better ones.
 
I actually think letting your guts hang out like that and slowly impaling yourself is really brutal. It's like I would rather have Kitana slash my arms and head off, than die helplessly from pain and blood loos like a human barbecue. Same with Kano making you look at your own heart before finishing you off.
 
At first I thought he was stabbing your intestines with the hookswords in the ground, sort of jerking your body forward into them.
