Tri-Borg origins THEORY.........

The biggest rule of a reboot is, if it isn't mentioned then it hasn't been retconned. Why would they need to mention anything about how a Soulnado works if nothing has changed? I really do like Noob Saibot, even moreso after his MK9 redesign. But right now, imo, more evidence points to him being dead than alive.

Triborg origins: NRS needed to sell a character inside the requirements: low costs and high demand. 4 in 1 cyborg = $$$$$$. That's his origin.

While that's accurate, I'm pretty sure that that's not going to be his MKX Bio, nor his MKX ending.
I was just speculating on what his origin could be, IF Tri-Borg becomes canon in future games.

Question: Would you WANT Triborg to be canon? Do you WANT him to replace the cyber ninjas?

Personally, I wouldn't. I'd rather Sektor and Cyrax returned somehow.

it would be kinda cool if he become canon. If he is playable in the next game they could go one step beyond where they change forms or switch out mid combo almost like noob and saibot do but with 3 (or 4) cyborgs.

I've never heard this rule. The way I see it, a reboot needs to reestablish everything. And until the mechanics of something is explained, it's left open ended.

And lets be honest, there's a better chance that NRS changed the soulnado than there is that it is works the same way as the original timeline. NRS can't make a new game without there being an entire retcon of a character (whether in design or story) or event. They don't give two sh**s about continuity.

That's cuz real nignogs read the canon shit before the game comes out ya heard,

Reading is for dorks.

 What if Triborg's Biography read: "NRS needed more money." Yeah, that's cute but I think someone missed the point. We're talking lore.

So anyways, Smoke was last seen as a revenant. Now he's been automated. But in the trailer, if any of it is true, we see Cyber Smoke collecting Sektor. But this Triborg is apparently the founder of the new Tekunin. I'm puzzled. :hmmmm2:

I'd hate them to be canon. Is like, let's remove Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Ermac, Reptile, Rain, Noob Saibot and Smoke and add Chameleon. Or removing Kitana, Jade and Mileena and add Khameleon. They're surely gonna be fun for this game based on variations, after that, no more Triborg.

Dude in the trailer didn't look like Smoke to me. He was grey, not black.

Triborg being canon is our only hope of ever seeing the cyborgs again. Him creating the Tekunin clan means that the Cyborgs will be a faction again. Meaning NRS has an easier explanation of why Sektor and Cyrax came back.

BBBLP Then which borg was that? The big clue is the head.

NathanCorsini As a huge Sektor fan, I'm satisfied enough having him back, even if it is a variation. But I get why you and others feel that way. I think this method of conjoining characters works out best with the cyborgs though. At least this way, its 4 different characters depending on the variation you use. Whereas Kitana just pays respect to Jade and Chameleon/Khameleon, as the example you gave, would be something similar. I'm just glad the Borgs are back, even if its a frankenborg.

I wouldn't worry too much on them remaining that way. We see them as seperate beings for a few seconds in their intro and fatality. Hopefully that's a clue that they don't have to be permanently conjoined for the future but that new ability isn't bad either. I really feel that Tri-Borg is just a one time Cyber Chameleon deal (at least I hope) intended to please fans of multiple characters.

I don't want Triborg to be canon. Based on how the rebooted story goes, it is kinda lame that Triborg contains Cyber Smoke, but okay, Smoke was not even a NPC. And Enenra said he wasn't Smoke cause Smoke is dead. But there could have been some makeshift explanation about that Lin Kuei has a digital copy of their ninjas available to upload or something.

But Cyber Sub-Zero? I wasn't hyped at all, I was just shaking my head. We have a game where Sub-Zero was freed from Quan Chi's control and came back from being a revenant. Now we have a Cyber Sub? Why? Sub-Zero was automated, then became a revenant, then became human and we have another Cyber Sub-Zero. How original... Okay, after the horror movie overload, NRS can do some fan service, I don't really mind, but for me personally, it is just plain stupid. Unless he is Bi Han somehow but then we have the question how Noob came back from being a revenant and so on.

So including Cyber Sub shows how Triborg is made for fan service and fan service only IMO.

Sektor had an entire factory of clones. I really don't think it's too farfetched to think he had the schematics for Cyber Sub and Smoke lying around somewhere.

Can anyone tell me what Triborg says in his intro when asked who he is?

(Please excuse the asshole putting an intro over)

Sounds like "Tech" or "Tekku". Is there anyone in the lore with that name?

I didn't read that far in to the comic but thanks. That opens up A LOT of possibilities then.

theincubuslord To answer your question: Sure. Regardless of Tri-Borg's origins, I don't see why not. Why would he be any less canon than Tanya, Tremor and Bo Rai Cho? I strongly believe they all are.

Cyber Sub-Zero coming back in the form of a hidden variation is probably the only non-canon thing about Tri-Borg. Unless they explain him as a clone like the comic showed happening with the rest of the Lin Kuei. I really doubt they'd turn Kuai Liang back in to a cyborg again after him being reborn as a revenant and eventually freed to become Grandmaster, so on and so forth. Which brings up another point. If NRS realized keeping Sub-Zero a cyborg is a big no for the majority of the fans, then Tri-Borg culminating a possible 4 characters is a temporary fix as well. Don't sweat it as I did with that similar type of thing.

Just because they spread 4 more characters in to one conveniently through the variation feature, doesn't mean they have no merit to the story.

Commander About Noob Saibot, There's no way the writers have this masterplan about the soulnado/Noob and waiting to reveal it in a dlc character's bio or even two games later. I say two games later because I don't think he's going to have anything to do with Tri-Borg and possibly the Tekunin. Why would they bring him back just for a characters biography. They are bringing him back, wouldn't you rather it be done in a more grand way? Like being playable  I'd say he's as good as dead until he does return. And we all know he will evetually. So him dying in the soulnado is no concern. That would be the second time he died. Second. I hope to see him, in some fashion, in MK11.

But please don't take that the wrong way or accuse me of attacking your opinion. Its all good. :top: I know its only your theory. You had good points about Noob-Smoke regardless of what I'm saying.

Discussion about Noob Saibot over and over again and forever, until the doomsday, even at the otherside, between heaven and hell we have to think about ''Where is Noob Saibot?" is he alive?

Here is the sell plan of Kombat Pack 2;

Triborg; Hardcore Mortal Kombat fans will absolutely buy Kombat Pack 2.. NRS %100 win..

Bo Rai Cho; Second generation Mortal Kombat fans who played Mortal Kombat on PS2 for the first time.. They will buy, no doubt because of his farting and drunk gameplay, he is funny.. Why not Drahmin or Noob Saibot even there is a Netherrealm invasion on earth, cos they are not funny.. NRS %100 win..

Alien & Leatherface; Non MK fans who looking for some fun for weekend, they will %100 buy and NRS %100 win.. Imagine their gameplay, just punching and kicking each other just for a fun.

Sad but true, nevermind the story now you face the money.

Sorry, but that doesn’t make any sense. How many people out there would buy a character just because he was in the first MK game they ever played? And while Bo' Rai Cho is a fun character for some people, there’s also a large number of fans who hate all the barfing and farting. Look at the reaction of people after he was announced: It was rather mixed. If they really wanted to maximize their profit we would’ve gotten Baraka, Sindle, Rain or Fujin instead. Characters with a large fan base.
