Haha. I think we all did. Lara was like a living legend back in the 90's. She was really like the first big female video game character. Now it seems like half the games feature scantly clad hot women as the main character. This game actually did a lot more for video games than most people realize. Especially newer gamers who arn't as familiar with Tomb Raider 1 and 2.

I didn't say Lara Croft was the first female to ever star in her own game but I did say she was the 'first really big female video game character' which holds true. Lara Croft is one of the more known characters in video games, even to people who don't play them, because of her popularity in the 90's. The news covered her, women were up in arms about her being simply used as a sex-tool to sell video games to adolecent males, and her character as well as the video game recieved a ton of attention from all over. Good and bad.

Did Samus ever do anything like that? No. Most people don't even know who Samus is. I had to think about it when you posted it for a minute ... then I was like "Oh. That girl who was basically a boy the entire game up until the end where she removed her helmet? Oh yeah. I forgot about her."

I'm not trying to take anything away from Metroid or Samus' character but Lara Croft is considered to be the first female video game star. She may have not been the first but she is one, if not still, the biggest.

I would rate people like Chun-Li from Street Fighter and even Sonya from MK above Samus.

man i miss the glory days of playin Ms Pac-man in a parlor, waitin for my pizza......so if pac-man was a cross-dresser then does that mean the first video(after beating stages 1-1 and 1-2) where the pac's meet each other after a ghost-chase, pac-man was totally wasted?
