The netcode thread

MK9 servers were mostly good for me. I just thought "netcode" was en excuse for losing Keepo

And I thought ignorance was an excuse for the lack of knowledge.

Let's make one thing clear: I did not intend this topic to be another "mine works okay" thread. It was okay for you? Be happy, embrace your low standards or your luck and shut up about it.

I never knew the Xbox version used the Gamespy servers, Immortal Reaver how is the online on Xbox right now? Is it as good as everyone says it is?

Fluff Gamespy, GGPO is the way to go.

I've heard nothing but positive things from KI's Netplay and they use GGPO.

Anybody who says MK9's netcode is good is deluded.

The servers still suck, but I've been playing Tekken Tag 2 which has relatively good netcode so I may just be comparing it to that.

I'm comparing them to old MK9 servers.
They still aren't good, but they're bearable at least.

At least now I know that when two people have good connections they can still have a good match. Whereas old MK9 had like half a second input delay on the best connections.

Yeah, but I still get scared to do standing 1 anti airs because of lag, so it's not good enough for me. Better than nothing, though.

MK9 runs mostly smooth. It doesn't handle cross-country playing that well. but if they are in the same country, it's pretty much always a smooth match. Feel free to send me an invite if you see me on. I wouldn't mind stopping by to stomp on those nuts. haha

Chill out nerd. It was a joke lol

i play online on PC and its extremely frustrating. it usually takes around 10 attempts to get a game going and it will most likely lag. you spend most of your time just 'trying' to get a match going.
i have great internet connection and a top of the range PC and have all the game settings on lowest but still it does not work

I think it's better but fighting randoms in the rooms is still lag city(koth still sucks). I recently picked up the 360 version of mk9 and from what I can tell it's a hell of a lot more playable with the new servers, Rank is the best for smooth matches but private is the way to go. I hope they continue to support the netcode because if they don't people may pass mk10 up out of fear.
