The Kabal Issue

Kabal, one of my favourite characters ever since MK3. Seeing as I don't know anything about the new MKA game due out this year. Would someone please confirm whether or not he has his groundsaw move from the classic games?

I hated his "come here & bounce off my stomach move" with a passion! In my opinion it was a terrible substitute move and a useless move altogether. Surely the Mk team can conjur up something better? Or more to the point, give him back groundsaw move. But maybe tweak it a little. I dunno, wtf :D

Usefull move of Kabal form the orginal games:

Spin Dash

Groundsaw

Eye Spark

Ground Spark

Telekinetic Slam (come here & bounce off my stomach move)  :(

I dont think that they told us anyones moves yet, they just confirmed who was going to be in it and the features including the new create a character, parry system and the new create a fatality system.

The create a character mode is what interests me the most at this point in time. It will be interesting to see how well they pull it off. And I expect the create a fatality system will go off bigtime as well. Will be cool to see what kind of combinations people come up with.

They haven't released any information on Special Moves yet. I'm pretty sure that they will include tons of classic Specials. I agree on that stupid Kabal move, I didn't like Kabal in MK:DA. He's one of my favorite characters in the other games.

The groundsaw move was kickass in the old 3D games. I hate how some characters seem to have lost the moves they had in the 2D games like Cyrax's net and Sonya's kicking move. Cyrax better have his net back. :x

I don't think anyone likes Kabal from MKDA but maybe it's because he wasn't in it. ;)

I doubt that highly. But all silliness aside, it was one of my favorite Kabal moves as well, I was dissapointed when they removed it from his arsenal.

Kabal really doesn't suck just because the loss of one move.

Now I remember that move I play the game at least twice a day and use it but seriously would it really improve in a 3D game? Nope. People could easily dodge it. Yes it was a great move along with his Spin, but they are both IMHO broken to the max to some extent.

Now he wasn't in DA although Mavado was, but he really was mediocre IMO.

Now I also loved Cyrax's net move but really would it improve MK:DA? Nope. Dodging to the side would be more of a nuisance and free hit. (To the person you just missed using it on)

2D games make those moves amazing but 3D XP.

The Nomad's touch really wasn't a bad move, but it wasn't good either, it was a desperate win attack. (Which saved me in a few situations of losing to some people not many)

But I agree with the rest.

I meant MK:D >_>

HOW DARE YOU say Cyrax's net is inferior. They could easily make it work out. They could make it launch really fast at them or something. Scorpion's Spear move doesn't always work does it? Nope. It would be the same issue. Remind me to slap you next time I talk to you

I'm sure we will be seeing ons of classic Special Moves, including Cyrax's Net and Kabal's grinder.

LMAO.

But Scorpion's Spear is his signature move. Cyrax's is... .... ... Really what is his sig move? XP I can't even tell.

I like that move trust me.

BTW the MK:D thing with Kabal was a joke I know you meant MK:D not MK:DA. LOL

The only real useful projectile causing a free hit is Sub-Zero's. Sindel's was good but it is now crappy.

Scorpion I haven't been able to get that to work on the CPU in ages. XP.

And the lot. I just hope they bring back all the orginal cool moves LOL.

In fact, I think no one liked that classic moves wasn't in MKDA/MKD. Probably much of them will return in MKA, but you konw there's some moves that simply won't work in 3D. Happily, Cyrax net isn't one of them, but I ain't sure about Kabal groundsaw attack.

The ground-saw by itself can be jumped unless...

Kabal uses a combo uppercutting the opponent and then uses it quickly ending it with that move, although another Spin Dash would lead into a bigger combo.

Yeah some moves I want back. Such as Sektor's Teleporting Uppercut one of the most famous spam moves of it's time.

Some like Sonya's little pink projectile... I can live without.

Maybe we should start a topic on what moves we want back.

If you apply the theory that the sole reason for the net's absence is "o it can be easily avoided" then you can use the same logic to support removal of ALL straight shooting projectiles, and none of us want that. The sole reason for a lack of green nets in MK:DA is simply because the developers decided not to include it. Now I too hope that MK:A heralds the return of many classic moves, but really some of those moves were just bad to begin with. For example, the Sub-Xerox move is useless, always has been, and you can't even place it justs as the guy recovers making it doubly useless. Moves like Noob's no-block ball and Rain's control orb would not be of any benefit either. Personally I think they should give these guys a few new moves to replace bad ones from before. Two of the better moves from the latest 2 installments were definitely Shang Tsung's 3-D fireball attack and Hotaru's ground fire. We need more cool creative moves like that.

Shang Tsungs 3D Skull attack I agree. Nothing on Hotaru is really original I've seen moves like that in older fighting games. (Back when most projectiles were all fire attacks)

His flag on his back or suit isn't even original XP.

Now on the other hand moves such as Sektor's TU that was the first original teleport move, along with Noob's throw.

Now I never said all projectiles were bad. But the broken ones you must admit are pretty damn cheap. UMK3 Rain, Ermac, and Noob anyone?

Now I know that all those moves shouldn't return but they could change them up and lessen their effects IE Kabal's Eye Spark which he could preform in a combo with him on the ground and then in the air. (One of the very first Air Kombos in any MK game)

Kitana also had many zany combos that could be preformed in MK2. (Infinite combos that kept the opponent air-borne anyone?

But some moves like Noob's no blocking/invulnerablility could just be made to the point it stops the opponent from blocking for 3 seconds, at least that would counter shell players, who waste time by blocking and then cheap shot the opponent.

the Nomad's Touch move was pretty stupid. whats it have to do with nomads, anyway? i think they SHOULD bring back the groundspark. as well as SubZero's slide. i think it totally pwned. but yeah i see your point CheifThunder.

They gave the slide move to Frost in MK:DA, if they don't give it to Sub-Zero this time around I think ima make a "Classic Sub-Zero" in the KAF mode.

i know that totally $ucks that Frost got the slide and SubZero got some cheap shoulder ram. i wish Frost never got that so we would have the SubZero we once knew and loved. I miss the SpineRip already. and the iceball..........

I'm not a fan of kabal... In fact the only good thing I see about him is the fact he has a combo for each style that switches to the next. He is the easiest style switcher of the lot.

Other then that he is pretty lame.

You must be one of the only living people that don't like Kabal.

Angel is just mad because Kabal dumped her XCP. XD.

Anyway I don't see how anyone could dislike him, I mean sometimes I wonder who I like more Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and then Kabal... Needless to say it is hard to decide.
