What I think:
- First of all, this is just a game, it's not like a real tournament where women wear skimpy outfits to fight. There's one point about games having to try and improve the culture so games are not taken seriously, but I also think this should be left for some other games like Street Fighter or Tekken, Mortal Kombat is and has always been somewhat comical and not serious.
- Sex sells. I'm not saying I like this, but it's a fact. Every beer, car and game ad you see there has a beautiful lady in it (Gamespot ad for Scorpion's klassic skin, anyone?).
- A bit close to my first point, MK has always been known for it's humorous stuff and over-the-topness. Why not put sexy partially nude women in the game that originally made ESRB be created? That's probably the devs objective, shock the society. As violence won't do this much more, as there's so much violent games out there, so they went with sexy, revealling outfits for women.
Of course, I agree with some of what you say. This game is meant for a mature audience, it should be a mature game. Not everyone will drool because of a pair of tits.
And, about the sexy outfits not fitting Kitana, Jade, Sindel and Sonya, well, they're not more undressed than Cammy. Kitana's, Jade's and Sindel's outfits are revealling, but they are reasonable, different from Mileena, for instance. Now Sonya, I agree she could be wearing a little more, but the only problem about her is the amount of cleavage shown by her vest. Besides that, she's also reasonably dressed.
And do not come to me with that argument of Sonya looking slutty because of her high heels. If you think high heels make a woman look slutty, I don't know what to think about you.

I'll be honest as a Muslim I find it kind of too much but as a man I don't mind it as much since it's a game it doesn't really matter. It is embarrassing though when my sister plays Sonya and she complains about her breasts being too big and that they make her look bad. Either way what we say doesn't matter much, they will do what they will do and all we can do is either never pick the females or look away and get your butt kicked lol.
