It's pretty safe to say that Taven beats MKA.

So here is the list of Mortal Kombat champtions storyline wise:

MK1: Liu Kang

MK2: No one, it's just the prologue to MK3/UMK3, Shang Tsung lured them to Outworld so that Earth remains defenseless.

MK3/UMK3: Liu Kang

MK4/MKG: Liu Kang again with help of Kai and so forth.

MK5: Li Mei

MK6: No one, it's just the prologue to Armageddon.

MK7: Taven
 
MK1, yeah its pretty well known Kang defeated Goro and Shang.

Mk2, yeah the lured. Though there are some rumors or myths that Kang won.

MK3. Was not a tourment. I dont think Kang won it on his own. But mostly Earth's heros GAIN up on Khan and his army. So most likely, Kang, Lao, Sonya, SubZero, ete all had a punch at Khan and push him back to OutWorld. It was a WAR. Not one on one fighting. I say Raiden's team won it. And even in the MK4 Intro it says that warriors from Earth defeated Khan. So it was not one guy.

MK4, same as above. No Tourment. Raiden called on Earth's heros to stop the threat. And again the heros gain up on poor Shinnok. While Scoprion and Subzero had there little fight some were else.

MKDA, I felt the DA WON the finally battle. Well for a few movements that is. I have heard one guy even bring up a impressive point that Reptile WON it lol.

MKD. I lead to belive Scoprion and other heros stop the Dragon King from merging the realms. Sure the Dragon King was not killed. So he was force to retreat. And joing Khan.

actually canon is that Li Mei won and it looks like Taven wins MK7 based on the konquest deal. and MK6 is a prelude to MK7.

Li' Mei won the mortal Kombat tournament that the DA set up after entering in order to free her people yes but then they used her champion's soul as the first soul to begin to revive the mummified army she was later rescued by Bo'Rai Cho and has ever since been duty bound to serve the dragon king. But DA wasn't about a tournament set in the backwaters of outworld that was really a sideshow distraction from the main storyline. It was the Deadly Alliance that won the day if only for a few brief moments.

I disagree with the last part about being duty bound to serve Onaga. In the intro of MKA, Hotaru impales her with his staff while she charges into battle with the likes of Sub-Zero, Fujin, etc. (the good guys).

This makes me wonder though. What's Raiden's deal? They show him fighting Shinnok in the intro making me believe that he's a good guy. But I thought that at the end of MKD, he gives up on good, kills Shujinko, and then becomes Darth Raiden.
 
Anyone who has played Deception should know Li Mei didn't win Deadly Alliance.

Raiden didn't neccessarily turn bad guy in the game. He's just currently misguided. Also if you blew yourself up just to realize you did absolutely nothing to the guy you wanted to hurt, you'd probably be a little crazy too.

As for the winner of Deception, I'd go as far as saying Shoa Kahn wins, as he is back on his throne in Armageddon.

Mortal Kombat 4 was a weird game, and to me was won by Liu Kang. Although Fujin could of done it too, as Kai doesn't have Raiden's staff, unless Raiden has more than one... I don't think it was Fujin because I think he would of been the one leading the charge in Deadly Alliance, instead it was Raiden... Who is the person I would fight for the most outside of Liu Kang being champion. Afterall him and Shinnok go way back, and how else would someone defeat an Elder God unless the victor of the fight was an Elder God as well?

Taven could win Armageddon, and he could lose Armageddon. You could say Konquest pretty much decides that for us, but I say it's still an "If" thing. Only if actually got over to the Pyramid in time. At the beginning of the game they show some people rather close to the top, so who knows?
