Great read!!! I love the fisherman concept, entirely unique if you ask me. You should tweet the link to Ed Boon or something. I'm sure if he reads this, Syphonius has a great chance of becoming a new character.

Some things I would like to add if you don't mind:

1. The names don't really fit MK. If he did become part of the MK universe, I doubt the names would stay. A bit irrelevant, I know. Just thought I'd tell you I'm not a fan of their names (Syphonius, Oceanus, Rentaurus)

2. I would have liked it if Oceanus was the only one with water-powers, and that Syphonius was just a master of the chained-sickle. Then, after oceanus is killed by Rentaurus and Syphonius fights him, Syphonius cuts his tail off. But, in a fit of rage, Rentaurus punches Syphonius so hard that he goes flying into the sea, unconscious from the blow. Instead of drowning, Syphonius enters a hibernated state, preserving his age and strength. Also, while in this state, he harnesses the power of water through contact with the spirit of his brother (which could cause him to lose his contact with Jade as well). The chained-sickle remains with Syphonius, wrapped around his leg, pulling him deeper into the sea. Or is this too cliche?

3. I thought that it would also be cool if perhaps Syphonius and Rain joined forces. Since King Jerrod died and Rain is the prince, Syphonius would be obligated to serve under him, regardless of whether he is good or evil. It's a bit ambiguous right now, but I wouldn't mind seeing his story go in that direction.

I don't think there's anything else I have to say right now. If I do come up with more, I'll be sure to let you know.

Don't like the names to much. Less GOW mor MK
Plots sick but he sounds like a water bender :p
Making the older brother the only one with powers bewteen him and his bro. And making the older brother the youngest person ever to be gifted with the powers in his clan. (Makes his powers more rare like sub zero)
Loving the jade boomerang inclusion makes sense!
Fatalities seem sick also

Send to boon!! But change the name first. :p pleaseeee
 
I just read through the entire thing now. This along with your Hotaru, Dairou and other rebuilding threads are THE BEST fanfics and stories I have ever read. This stuff puts the existing Mk storyline to shame. You really should write more and try sending it to boon.

I have written some future prospective Mk stories as well and I know how insignificant it feels when we put in hours of work and only a minority read and comment. It is the feedback that fuels our enthusiasm and motivates us to write more. Eitherways as you always say, It is a HUGE loss for those who miss your ingenius ideas and stories and I really hope more members appreciate your work and your contributions to the Mk community. I hope you will continue writing more whenever you get time

Glad you liked the story!!!!! And it makes me even more happy that you read it to your friends and that they liked it as well!
To be honest, the original concept I had for this character was some sort of Atlantis persona so I guess thats where the feeling of GOW came in.
Lol, Ive actually never watched Avatar:The Last Airbender, so I would have no idea of any correlation to that show :P
But yeah, the name I came up with Syphonius is entirely original and Oceanus is something I pulled from my Greek Mythology textbook. Now that more people are starting to mention it, I feel like the names could be changed to a more oriental origin. Personally, I was thinking Suigetsu for the main characetr and his brother named Mizuro. Both prefixes of their names Sui and Mizu mean water in Japanese. Does that sound like an improvement? Once again, im glad that both you and your friends enjoyed this!!!!!!

p.s. How do you think I could send this to Ed Boon?

I honestly can't thank you enough for taking the time to read this story as well as the others I have made!!!! :) To be honest, I feel that the actual MK storyline really deserves a much better one with each character having a more deeper and developed story.

And exactly right my friend, it truly is the readers and actual feedback we get from them that gives us the motivation to write more of these; if no one reads them, whats the point to write them in the first place? It really is too bad that some people wont read certain stories as they are skeptical as to whether they are any good and have had bad experiences in the past, and I dont blame them for it in that sense. However, as the saying goes, dont judge a book by its cover!

I will deffinitely write more that now more people have started to read these however it wont be for another two weeks or so since I have some stuff due for my summer courses at my university. Any suggestions as to what you would like to see next? And when I get the chance, Ill deff check out your writings as well and give you some feedback!

No problem bro! Glad that you will be writing more soon =D. Frankly I would love to read about any character that you rebuild or even new characters. However for a suggestions sake, I would like to see your take on tremor.=D

Also I think the closest you can get to Boon is through Twitter. I dont have an account there so not really sure how it works. Maybe you could tweet your ideas to him. Ill update you when I get more info about it.

But do take your time in that, they also say "Slow and Steady wins the race" which is true. take your time and show us a lovely pic which goes well with your story. =D good luck with your future writing. Also do keep us posted through the writers group so we know about your progress.

Thanks for the feedback! Please do give the other threads a read when you get the chance ;) And yes I will keep everyone in our group updated when I have the drawings as well as any other stories ready. As Flying Jinko suggested, I might do an origin story on Tremor after Im done the drawings. And why on earth do you have neg rep!?!?!? You seem like such a nice person and barely any posts either to compensate for it! You deserve better! + rep for the feedback and enjoying the story!
 
don't worry too much about the names. When Boon implements your idea into the game, I'm sure his team will come up with names themselves. ;^)

As far as sending your ideas to Boon, I would set up a twitter account if you don't already have one and tweet the URL of page 1 of this thread to @noobde and/or @NinjaBoy66

The latter is Rigo Cortes, who is the "Community Manager for NRS". I don't know if he has pull with stuff like this, but it doesn't hurt to send him a tweet.

I already have a twitter account and I have tried to send it to Ed Boon once but he never responded back! I think its because of the fact that he gets a ton of tweets on there as well as a ton of harassment (seen it myself) from fans about certain requests they want for future MK games. Maybe Id have a better shot with Rigo Cortes? And how should I formulate the tweet?

"here's a concept for a future MK character: [insert URL here]. Do you think it fits the theme of MK and is it worthy of Boon's attention?"

If he says yes, he may help you get your idea in important people's hands. If no, the best thing you could hope for is people seeing your tweet, liking it, spreading the word, and eventually a large enough fan base could get him in the game (similar to skarlet and ermac).
 
Beautiful, beautiful story! I loved how you fleshed out Syphonius, and the love story is so seamless! Just saying you have talent isn't enough to describe you!


I'd love Syphonius to make it into MK. He fits so much into the MKverse!
