Strategy guides?

Any word on this yet? Funny thing is that these days I dont buy strategy guides for the actual strategies because if they are anything like MK9, they are atrocious. However, they are nice items to collect and I love how MK9's had an art section other other cool stuff in it.

I think someone on MKO mention that they got a e-mail that won't be a SG for MKX. It's a shame too since I love getting Strategy guides as a kid. It was more fun and easier to wasting printer paper at home. Not to mention it was fun seeing who was in the game and who wasn't.

I would get strategy guides for nearly every game I was seriously interested in since 1995 (when I first knew what they were). My parents eventually caught on and would get me the strategy guide along with the game as birthday and Christmas presents. In fact, at one point retailers would give you a discount (probably in the 10-20% range) if you bought both the game and its strategy guide simultaneously, especially around the time of release.

I hope that MKO post is bullshit. I like being able to use them as referencing purposes. That's how I learned the Kombat Kodes for MK9, believe it or not.

That'd be awesome! They could go in-depth on each character with unique artworks and stuff, and also have sections showing their concept art, etc.

I was going to ask about Brady Games, but it just now came to my attention that both Brady and Prima are now owned by the same parent company. If there's any truth to that MKO post, then we're screwed as far as a strategy guide is concerned.

Strategy guides these days are not useful, especially when the metagame evolves and the fact that the information can be outdated due to patches. I would prefer an art book, especially if they the show omitted designs and notes from designers.
