[SPOILER] Everything about story mode. Pics, videos, discussion, etc.

Only thing I can think of is maybe Reiko, and Havik are the new deadly alliance and at the end they open the Dragon King Lair and bring forth Onaga. Other then that, or a new bad guy. They would have to bring Quan Chi Shang Tsun back or something like that. Thanks BBB and that's nasty maggots. And that's pathetic about Baraaka, I mean seriously not even playable and off screen death wow...

Oh FFS! Reiko and MAYBE Havik are getting offed in the comics. End of story.

I'm sick of seeing the desperate reaches for these two when it's obvious their plan is gonna go wrong.

Havik and Reiko are probably going to die in the comic. Kotal, Johnny and Sonya are currently on their way to rescue Jacqui and Cassie. Maybe one of them get away, hopefully Havik, but I doubt they both do.

I do wonder what the "Reiko Accords" mean though. Why would Kotal Kahn respect something Reiko put into place? Or maybe Kotal named it after Reiko as a reminder to not act aggressively towards other realms.

Can I also point out another oversight in the story? When Mileena's team creates that roadblock to stop Kotal Kahn's wagon, everybody starts trying to move it out of the way. Including Ermac, who moves ONE CRATE AT A TIME. The guy has the power to toss multiple human soldiers around in the air like they're dandelions, but can't launch a couple of wagons into outer space. They really portrayed him poorly.

Maybe it's a good thing Baraka wasn't playable. I shudder to think of how much more irrelevant they planned on making him.

Did anyone else notice that you can skip thecutscenes AND the fights? Does that mean if I want to play as Shinnok at my launch party i could just skip the whole story, unlock shinnok and play with my friends?

I'm sure you'd probably at least be forced to fight Monster-Shinnok. It would be hilarious for them to not have some kind of restrictions set in place. Maybe losing koins?

Probably. NRS is sucking casual dick pretty hard now. I must congratulate them though, instead of dumbing down the gameplay they just dumb down the nonessentials like fatality inputs and unlocks.

Something tells me that MK11 is basically going to be Injustice: MK Edition. I just feel it in my gut.

And by Injustice: MK edition, I mean we'll be seeing the heroes battle evil versions of themselves in a one universe invades the other scenario.

I was thinking that as well, I just don't think it will happen as soon as the next game though, I have a feeling they are saving that episode for this time line's Armageddon. That whole universe combining to fight each other would make another perfect Armageddon game. I actually thought of the main bad guy there would be instead of Blaze, it would be the one being or whatever that thing's name is the thing that the elder gods fought and locked away or whatever. With it coming back could upset the realms and they merge kind of like MKvsDC just in actual canon story line. I have a feeling that MK11 will either feature Dark Raiden (which would be pretty cool if they pass the torch to Fujin I think he could handle it and please, please someone answer what the heck happen to him?!) or some sort of Deadly alliance type figure whether it be the original Deadly Alliance, Liutana, or (heh I'm gonna have Snow spaz here again lmao) Havik and Reiko, or some totally new duo which in my opinion would be weird, but could be good depending on the story line. I do think it will only be one story line though, I have a feeling the MK9 type thing is done I mean telling three stories in one game. I was waiting to see if they would do that for this game or not. Since they didn't I am pretty sure to say they are only gonna do either a new story or deadly alliance next game, and leave the possibility of Onaga for MK12 or MK13 or whatever to keep things easier for NRS so they don't have to create too much new stuff.

BBB: yea that whole accord thing is interesting I was wondering why implement that in the game though if Reiko was only a comic idea I could be looking to into though, and could just be a way to make the story line flow with why outworld ain't attacking the earth realm. But I do have a feeling they are at least gonna use him whether in revenant form or whatever in the next game and possibly Havik as well, or one or the other, I am not really a fan of either I just think that is what NRS will do with them.

Snow: ok, ok, take a chill pill easy.... easy... I won't back you in the corner....put the knife down.... but you have some either deep seated hatred for Reiko or something I just think that NRS will use those two characters again it's a cheap way of doing things, though I do like the idea of the deadly alliance and such.

lmao is he even in the story? I mean I know the Tarkatans are, but is Baraka? That is pretty funny about Ermac imagine him playing tetris with the crates.

I think they're actually sucking tournament dong aren't they? Tournaments prefer little to no unlockables so they can get cracking on the fights.

Though why no one's ever thought of bringing a memory card or transferring their save data is beyond me.

From what I understand, the EVO crowd is mostly responsible for the dumbing down of extra content.

Take injustice for example. That was such a BAREBONES experience comparable to vanilla MvC3. Mostly because several tournament players had really heavy input on what they wanted in the game.

That's true. I guess they cater to both. I think only MK fans like locked rosters lol.

Injustice had a ton of unlockables though. Costumes out the ass, an entire "Krypt" of concept art (much better than MK9s') and Hero Card decals all over the place.

lmao that's pretty sad actually where's the reward or hard work in just skipping till the end. Also is there any mention on a sub boss in this game? If not sub boss this would be the first game to not have a sub boss if I am not mistaken.

Goro's the sub-boss. Then regular Shinnok. Then Monster-Form Shinnok.
Goro's on-disk dlc and Tanya is half on-disk dlc as well.

A couple things that bother me about the story of this game that I feel the comics have spoiled me on with good writing are:

1) Mileena's overthrowing was very... abrupt/boring/anticlimactic.
From reading the blurb at the beginning of each physical issue of the comic, I was expecting a scene with Mileena chilling on a throne, watching Shinnok invade Earthrealm through a magic image projection, laughing at them. Kotal advises to help Earthrealm and Mileena snaps at him. Kotal gets frustrated with the way she's been acting and literally throws her off of the throne and says if she won'tt keep Outworld safe, he will. Commence fight.

What we ACTUALLY get is Kotal, Dvorah, and Reptile chatting in a room when SUDDENLY Mileena, Baraka, and Ermac appear! With apparent (although accurate) suspicions of treason.
Commence fight.

2) Scorpion's family is named differently... For... Some reason???
Kana = Harumi
Jubei = Satoshi

3) Raiden already knowing the Elder Gods can't destroy the amulet, but in the comics he doesn't know until he asks them to. (This one's Kittlesen's fault)

So in other words they want you to buy a character who is already in the game and on the character select screen because he is goro and he dont deserve to be free, thats pretty wack man

How on earth did kotals skin turn green as we saw him in storymode as a white man in a flash back

It's ritual/royalty paint.

Also it could very well be an oversight on the comic artist's end. From what I've been seeing with all the inconsistencies between the comic and the game, Kittlesen didn't have as much interaction with Netherrealm as we think.
