Special pre-order bonuses for Dishonored

I am super hyped about this game coming out, and was going to go by GameStop and put $20 down, but then I also noticed that Amazon.com has the "Backstreet Butcher pack," which looks like something I'd rather get.

Here are the 2 bonus pre-order packs:

There's also a Best Buy and Walmart bonus pack:

The question I have is:
Is Amazon reliable on their pre-orders or is it better to go with GameStop?

I really don't want to go with GameStop, if I don't have to, but on the other hand I've never pre-ordered anything from Amazon.com.

I have never had a problem with an amazon pre-order.

What about their bonus stuff that's sent afterwards?
Have you ever had bonus stuff from amazon get lost in the mail?

The reason that I ask is because it says that they will send the bonus codes within 2 days of the shipment.

If you don't get a code sent or you get a bad code; just call them -- all you need is your statment and they'll give you another one on the spot. That's what I did for a God of War game when i accidentally deleted the email.

Cool. Thanks. ;-)
I might go with them after all.

Why not get the Gamestop one?

It seems that the Amazon one only comes with boosted abilities, not something exclusive that you can brag about (the white rat assist thing).

It's like if they offered you to make your gun more powerful OR you can get the gun that is only available through pre-order.

Depends what game you're talking about, though.
If you're talking about the next DOOM, for example, I'll take the BFG any day, HANDS DOWN.

Befriending the white rats is an ability that I can pick up later during the game.
It doesn't say that you can control rats with that bonus code.
It just says that they won't be hostile towards you with the code.
I'm pretty sure that if I get the Amazon.com version, the other abilities in the bonus GameStop version you will have to earn, and vice-versa if you get the GameStop version.
Both give you an extra empty spot for another special ability.
Just seems to me like what you want to use from the start.

I'm pretty sure it will either be earned during the game, or will be like the MK9 Sub Zero, Scorpion, and Reptile store-specific skins.
Available as time released DLC.

No big worry. ;-)

Oh alright.

I thought the Amazon version was just giving you a head start and the Gamestop version was offering some exclusive content.

Get the Amazon version then :)

They each have their pros.

In the GS version, with that code, you can eat white rats to gain mana, befriend the white rats and Void Channel (which seems to make your powers last longer).
Seems like more of a stealthy approach.

In the Amazon version you have a better chance at winning word fights, bigger whiskey bottle explosions and you take in less explosion damage.
Seems more like a brutal approach.

Depends on what you want to go after.

I'd definitely go for the more brutal approach.

Stealth is for wusses 8)

Except if you're Solid Snake or Sly Cooper of course.

It all depends on what abilities I pick up first. lol
If I get the stopped time ability first, that Void Channel ability could come in real handy.
If I get the teleport ability first, then the more brutal approach may be more helpful. ;-)

I'll admit I had no idea of this game until a couple weeks ago. After watching the trailer it definitely caught my attention. I'm leaning towards purchasing this day 1 but my lack of faith is telling me to wait for a few reviews.

Yup, that's it.
Didn't get to put my pre-order in the other day, but I will today.
I jizzed in my pants.

Unfortunately though, out of the 4 retailers (Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon and GameStop), I think the GameStop bonus will be the one that is the most useful to me.
After some viewing of the stage demo and gameplay trailers, it looks like Void Channel and Eating Rats for mana would be quite useful.

By eating white rats I can gain more mana.
Mana = magic powers
I also like that Void Channel bonus, because that means that I can use magic powers for a longer period of time, which might be quite useful when getting used to this game.

*Sigh*
Looks like I'll be going with GameStop, even though I don't want to.
