No. Tanya still replaces Kitana if she is fighting. But if Skarlet is fighting, her spot will be empty.

they better bring back bald headed kano from trilogy.even though mk9 kano's primary is the same or very similar to trilogy kano (dont know should of checked first lol) they atleast gotta give him the bald head. they also need to bring back jean claud van dam.... i mean mk1 johny cage.

1st - I dont get what people sees in the classic costumes (and dont come with nostalgia crap), I said it in other thread, I dont want them not even for free (Bring back new costumes for crying out loud)
2nd - Im sure that the ??? is not Cyber Smoke or any other known character, is a new character, they said t is gonna be a "New entrant to the MK tournament", besides why the mistery in an old character?
3rd - I dont think ??? is gonna be the last DLC, why throw out all your DLC in 2 months?? it doesnt make sense.

you're entitled to your own opinion, no doubt...and if you don't want klassic skins even for free, well as weird as that is, that's your interest and opinion...BUT, the klassic skins mean a lot to A LOT of fans out there, especially the one's that grew up with the original MKs and have been around since the beginning. I don't mean any disrespect when I say this, but you're only 18, which means you haven't been around since the beginning, and probably didn't start playin MK until Deadly Alliance came out, or any of the later games. I'm sure you've played the original games and so on, but if ya haven't been around since the beginning, then of course all the klassic stuff isn't going to mean as much to you as the rest of us...but for a lot of us, the klassics mean a lot. As far as new costumes or new characters go...all of that stuff just isn't going to happen. I agree that I would love to see an endless array of new costumes and characters, but ya gotta realize that they're not just gonna continue to pour in BRAND NEW everything into THIS game...they're gonna wanna save new costumes and characters for future MK games.

My first MK was UMK3 when I was like 6, then I had MKT and then MK4, I never played MKDA, MKD or MKA, I abondoned MK after MK4, then I returned to the franchise with MKvsDC, and I still have MKT installed in my computer and I play it once in a while.
I played UMK3 a lot when I was a child and I loved it but even so I dont want UMK3 classic costumes, the time passed I dont want simple costumes for a modern game.
I want new costumes, at least 1 per character.
I wouldnt mind if they realese the classics along with new costumes, but they bother me because aparently they are the only costumes they are realising and people keep requesting them and that means they are gonna keep realesing them and wont realese new costumes.
If they want to realese more classics, fine but realese something new for people that doesnt give a damn for them.
PS - I imagine NRS realesing MK10 with only classics costumes since people like them so much and prefers them over the new detailed costumes.... lol, fortunly this will never happen but if they'd do it I'd be very mad.
Why would they use "???" for Cyber Smoke you ask...well it's simple, like you stated, it's a marketing trick. No matter how dumb people think they are, the fact is, is that it IS a business, and marketing tools/tricks work. Think about it, let's say it wasn't listed as "???", but instead it was listed as a character you completely flat-out hated...then you'd have absolutely no interest/excitement for that DLC. By listing it as "???", it's going to keep the fans on their toes and excited to see who the character is. It's just simple marketing strategy, period.
Next, It's also NOT going to be a brand new character or guest character. If they were just gonna continue introducing brand new characters, then there would be no point in making MK10...they wanna save some stuff for future games and stories. I DO believe the "???" is Cyber Smoke, it just makes sense...BUT, you may be right about the MK3 ninja outfits, they very well could release them slowly down the line. I personally believe it's a long shot that they'd release ALL of 'em at once...BUT, the reason I said that, is just cause I don't see them wanting to drag on all of this DLC for forever. With all of that being said, all we can do is wait and see, and hope for the best.

Well...like MANY others, I want my klassic skins first and foremost........and like I said before, I would LOVE to see an endless array of new costumes also, but it's just not gonna happen man. As much as I wish I was wrong, ya just gotta deal with it and move on.

Except that with Sub-Zero taking the place of Smoke in being converted into a cyborg, Cyber-Smoke is no longer part of the MK story. Thus, his inclusion (even if it's non-canonical), being the last chance for him being in a game, would be a HUGE deal to fans of Cyber-Smoke (which there are a lot of). On the flip side of that, a brand new character just wouldn't sell as well as Skarlet did. Or at least not at first. We knew about Skarlet long before she was released, and she was teased more than enough. So by the time she came out, many of us were really excited for her, despite having never actually played with her before. A totally new character for the mystery fighter wouldn't have that same sort of hype surrounding them (Skarlet levels of hype can't be built up in just a week or two). Thus, in all likelihood, the only sales of them would be those of us who bought the Season Pass for the Xbox. Everyone else would wait and see. Cyber-Smoke (or any other existing character) wouldn't have that uncertainty surrounding them.
Except that all those are one-time use designs. Once they're released, the models can't be used again. So far, all the klassics have been ones that can be used again, and thus them being released for free is no big deal. Those klassics will likely come out eventually as a Klassic Skins Pack #2 and beyond, but they won't be the ones included with the DLC characters. Those will be just more ninja swaps. *crosses fingers for MK2 Kitana and Mileena being among them*

u guys are crazy if you think its going to be some amazin character .. just like nrs said beating the challenge tower will unlock something amazin... and all you get is a costume which i bet every nerd creamed their pants... dont get too excited fellas ...

A. Sub-Zero only got cooler again in MKD, but his alternate was crap. Now in MK9, look at Smoke. He looks ridiculous. Not only his hair, but his mask looks like a beak. And his alternate costume makes he look like a KNIGHT. They made TWO new costumes for him in this game, and I don't like both! The only costumes he has that I like are from past games, MK2 and UMK3. So, instead of hoping they make some new costume for him, I prefer that first they give me his klassic costume, and thankfully I'll have a very cool MK2 Smoke in a couple of days. So, it's not all about nostalgia. It's playing safe.

Smoke's main is great, the hair is bad, but the costume is great though I never use it because the hair bother me a lot, but his alt is awesome, one of the best costumes in the game.
I agree with you in that MK3 and MKDA Sub-Zero were the worst costumes ever, random guy with blue suspenders? No, thank you, that's not Sub-Zero, IMO MK9 Sub-Zero has the best costume he ever had.

I think that means is new, besides why the mistery in a character that is not new?

Gonna need something a bit more solid than simple semantics before saying it's "confirmed." That could easily be nothing more than just a flashy way of saying "and someone to be reveled later." Technically, all DLC characters are new entrants, as they aren't in the game at launch. Especially so in the case of Cyber-Smoke; someone who no longer exists in the MK universe (CSZ took his place).
As for the mystery, I'm sure you can understand. It's the same reason why Rain wasn't named until the Season Pass was announced. It keeps people interested, and prolongs the agony of those really wanting whomever it proves to be.
