So why all the hate for Sub-Zero players now!?!

Oh I hate that filthy ice clone, but only because I fall for it about 90% of the time. I'm an aggressive player and that move kicks my ass. Just last night I was playin' an awesome sub-zero player and he gave me an old fashion whoopin'. My Baraka didn't even stand a chance haha.

I play subby wubby. :3 he can use things like the freeze ball an stuff, but just because you fail, and he might be to quick for you, does not mean he is a bad character. Honestly he's easy to beat, if you learn his moves, because computers tend to use the same move over and over. But if you can't bet him in say story mode, you will never beat shao Kahn.

Haha I fall for it once, then he does it agin and I wait, but one time he has made one in the air, I jumped over it, and he beat me up and push me into the ice clone >< it pissed me off!

i got a hater... hating on my avatar outfit in king of the hill mode...just send them <3's and they will leave u alone lol.

I totally respect sub zero players...i have tried myself but am no master by any means. They walk a risky line of some very strategic and preemptive fighting styles. As sub-zero i have gotten some hate when i have been able to win lol and they really don't have any right to do so. I find sub zero to be one of the most difficult characters to spam or do anything as most people would consider "Cheap." The way i see spammers are that it makes you a noob for not being able to beat them anyway, now with that in mind i steer clear of spamming for the shear sake of making a fight interesting and not stepping on people's toes. I main sheeva and either get mad props for winning a fight or unbacked accusations of spamming. People seem to really hate losing to characters most people don't consider good and that could be why people don't like losing to sub zero too. I think he is underestimated quite often. If anyone wants to go up against my sheeva game my xbox gamer tag is beatmasterfresh

I've started to use Sheeva a little online because she's not used ever. At least not by my opp. Unfortunetly I don't have an XBox.

I've used SZ as my #1 main since MK1. His gameplay has gotten slower over the years which pisses me off. Game devs give him stupid, useless moves IMO like ice puddle. I use ice clone only to sych out my opp. If they rush me or use jump ins-no prob. if I'm fighting against a teleport I do a forward dash so I won't get hit. Sub Zero's main strategy is defense but he's also got phenominal offense if you play him right.

anyone gets upset when people use a tactic the other person views as unfun because they cannot use tehre own favorite tactic (commonly rushdown in case of sz)

your clones mean they have to stop, they dont want to stop, thsi frustrates them, they send hatemail.

look at it as you are playing your sz correctly! thats how i view it on noob.

THIS. When I first started playing, I hated fighting Sub-Zero but I just slow my game down, his freeze and clone are both manageable if you take your time.

Ah no his ice puddle is alot faster since the patch I use alot more now when the opponent is blocking on the other side of the screen they usually get hit with it all the time. Also Sub-Zero may seem slow to alot of other players but he is actually very fast when you use him right

As much as I like sub it's to easy to get punished using any of his moves the only one I like is the wake up slide because of the invincibility frames. Basically A good player is going to wait and bate sub throwing projectiles from a far since you have enough time to block the ice ball after yours hits and characters with a teleport are just going to punish him in the start up frames of the ice ball. As for the slide it's slow and will not reach full screen so it's not even a problem and very punishible on block also the ice clone is useless and punishable with a projectile against players that have some sense and know better than to rush him . He definitely needs a buff when it comes to his speed his start up frames are terrible. as for the ex moves they are good but you might only get a few chances to use them not enough to make much of a differance.

No hate on my part, Subby has been consistently one of the characters that it takes great skill to actually master. I don't mean ice clone, slide and freeze, but to actually use him how he was intended to be played which is as a defensive character with great potential to capitalize on the mistakes of spammers.
I mastered subbie wubbie. I mastered all his moves.

I think it's just because of the fact that if you use ice clones effectively, people think it's cheap because it makes them feel helpless. I faced this person that they did nothing but jump kicks and uppercuts and they will fall for my clones every single time and they sent me hate mail for it.

Awesome! Always cool to see other people try and get good with the underplayed characters. If you ever need advice i can tell you a few tricks that helps beat the harder characters to fight with sheeva like kung lao and raiden...or the "hats" as i call them.

That is very true about sub zero's offense. People think he is all defense and i tend to thing that is his strong point but he can punish like a mad man on people who are being overly offensive or teleporting. He can be fast when used right and actually put some nice and awkward pressure on people

Players who use Sheeva scare me!! Only because I havent played very many at all so I when I do it usually never ends well for me lol nice to see people use under used characters too its always a breath of fresh air regardless if I win or lose. I use alot of Quan Chi too and I dont see to many using him.

Alot of good comments in here

If your a new player [ie- vsdcu, mk9] you might say sz is extremely fast, even to the point of being unfair. Myself, using sz since the first game have noticed little tweaks threw out the years making him a little slower; predictable. But he's still very fast non the less which is why he's soo good at both offensive and defensive play. I do think SZ's ice puddle neeeds to be buffed a little.[quicker start up]

Been with him since MK1 yeah he is slowed down compared to his previous enteries but he his still very fast depending on how you link your offensive or even his defense can be slightly fast. Im talking in general about how some players dont like him because he is "slow" in which case he really isnt

Also I do agree the puddle could be buffed more but for me it is faster then it was before the patch. Another aspect is most opponents dont think your going to use it and when you do it catches alot of them off guard

I'm not really sure the Ice Puddle should be improved. Sub-Zero is already distinctly top-tier as-is and improving Ice Puddle would probably unbalance him. He doesn't need anything more right now, in my opinion.

For me either way is fine really I dont care it works for me more often then not.
