So why all the hate for Sub-Zero players now!?!

Lately in a matter of 2 or 3 days it seems all the hate on Smoke, Scorpion, and Kung Lao players is now on the Sub-Zero players.

Now I main Sub, CSZ, and Quan Chi but lately I have been getting countless hate mails (which doesnt upset me one bit lol) about how im a noob because I pick Sub-Zero or stop spamming the Ice clone which in my opinion is a legitimate tatic for when players jump at you its not my fault you ran into it! Or stop using the same combos over and over in which case I honestly dont! I try to mix up my combos in order to keep my opponents guessing. I also get hate mail for low kicking to much lol which I feel works alot better then playing the uppercut game to see who hits who first. My chip damage from low kicks does the job just fine. I also have two play styles ones defensive and one is offensive depending on how my opponent plays.

Anybody else who mains Sub or plays him often encountering this? I find it bewildering it seems the hate is just moving from character to character

So because your mailbox has been more active lately, the world suddenly has it out for zero players?

I do find ice clones cheap, but I'd never fault someone for using it...

other than that, I could care less about him...

anyone gets upset when people use a tactic the other person views as unfun because they cannot use tehre own favorite tactic (commonly rushdown in case of sz)

your clones mean they have to stop, they dont want to stop, thsi frustrates them, they send hatemail.

look at it as you are playing your sz correctly! thats how i view it on noob.

i like when ermac players send me hate when i use reptile "stop spamming elbow dash noob" i will when you stop letting me block your lift/push bud.

Not a bad way to look at it

It's easier to blame the game or other players than thinking of how to deal with certain situations. Any tool a character has is fair game.

A player can legitimatley hate a character or characters when and only when they are truly OVERPOWRED. Such as when a character can spam (repeat) a move or a sequence of hits that does not allow the opponent enough time to defend or launch an attack because of the move's quick recovery time such as Kano's knife throws, Smoke's smoke bomb after being hit, Raiden's high-low teleport into the superman fly, Nightwolf's shoulder charge leading into a combo then resetting to repeat the sequence over and over. Sub-Zero is not a character that ANYONE can hate legitimately, nor Scorpion. Sub-Zero has no spammability the way Kano, Raiden, Nightwolf, Noob Saibot, Smoke, Kitana, Stryker, Sektor, Sindel, and Kung Lao can spam a move or moves over and over and over again while the opponent is still or just recovering. So just because you don't know how to beat such a beatable character as Sub-Zero because you don't practice enough does not give you the right to hate that character or his fire brother Scorpion. So stop crying you idiots.

I played some Ermac guy and when I was clearly going to win, he ragequits. It could be the Sub Zero because I beat him before with Kitana and he didnt ragequit

i know what you mean. but if enough people complain about the ice clone the first thing everyone says is nerf.

Sub zero does not need to be nerfed in any way, He is a top tier character if you know how to use him correctly, as a matter of fact any character can be top tier if played correctly.

Exactly. No one wants to man up and except their loss so they make up their own imaginary rules for what's "fair" and what's "cheap" lol. It's an unnatural limitation they put on the game that has no validity outside their own mind. I have no problem with them having their "code of ethics" or whatever, but I don't share it and there's nothing wrong with that. Accept your loss and use it to get better or shut up, that's how it goes. If it doesn't totally break the game, which is exceedingly rare (think Akuma in Super Turbo Street Fighter, for all those who think Raiden/Kung Lao is broken, lol, learn about this guy), then there's no reason to call it "cheap". Everything has counters, some moves just take more time, effort, and thought to deal with. If it has a counter and you lose to it, it's not the fault of person using it, it's your fault for not learning to get around it. Maybe MK just isn't a big enough part of your life to learn that, which is totally ok, but that doesn't mean it's anymore valid for you to cry "unfair!" "OP!" or whatever. You're not willing to put in the work, you don't get to earn the rewards.

I've heard people b---h at me about my Ice Clones over the mike and rage quite on me when I lock down their ill-conceived and completely unintelligent kamikaze rushdown. It's like voting. If you don't vote (or actively stage a legitimate protest or whatever), you can complain about the president all you want but you didn't do anything to try and alter the results. If you don't try and get better, no one cares that you can't win. Sub-Zero is good, but not unstoppable. I've gotten my Ice Clone zoning wreck and my heart, literally, torn out as Sub-Zero. People can definitely counter me, but those who can't just need to work harder.

Lol sorry to rant, I just don't understand why people go so crazy over certain things. =P

I totally respect sub zero players...i have tried myself but am no master by any means. They walk a risky line of some very strategic and preemptive fighting styles. As sub-zero i have gotten some hate when i have been able to win lol and they really don't have any right to do so. I find sub zero to be one of the most difficult characters to spam or do anything as most people would consider "Cheap." The way i see spammers are that it makes you a noob for not being able to beat them anyway, now with that in mind i steer clear of spamming for the shear sake of making a fight interesting and not stepping on people's toes. I main sheeva and either get mad props for winning a fight or unbacked accusations of spamming. People seem to really hate losing to characters most people don't consider good and that could be why people don't like losing to sub zero too. I think he is underestimated quite often. If anyone wants to go up against my sheeva game my xbox gamer tag is beatmasterfresh

This is a great way to look at. I try my best not to be repetitive not out of respect for my opponent but I like my matches to be interesting and fun I could care less if im loosing just more practice. I dont know I guess I was just suprised to see the way some people act in the game when they loose.

No hate on my part, Subby has been consistently one of the characters that it takes great skill to actually master. I don't mean ice clone, slide and freeze, but to actually use him how he was intended to be played which is as a defensive character with great potential to capitalize on the mistakes of spammers.

Love Subby, hate fighting him sometimes because I can'r rush him, but seriously, the only time I get pissed is pissed at myself for jumping straight into an ice clone. My own fault. I would be him more often but my juggles suck with him so far. Need juggling tips.
