So are we not getting a special edition?

The fact that there are no details on a Kollecter's Edition or Special Edition(I got my heart set on the Special Edition)is the main reason why I haven't preordered yet.

I can't see them being lazy with all this. My thought is they are really jam-packing this game with so much content that it might be stalling them on the marketing end. I can see this game requiring a patch initially upon first putting the disc in the system(like we all had to do for GTA V) for extra content they could not fit on the game disc. Of course I don't know much about Marketing.

OR the fact that they have to implement 3 different variations of 24+ Characters(practically creating 72+ versions of everyone's fighting style, appearances etc.) has been taking up most of their attention and efforts to where the marketing is watered down compared to MK9.

All and all, I won't worry too much. I'm positive the game is on schedule. Maybe running a tight schedule, but on schedule nonetheless. Just because we're not getting spoon-fed with info this time around doesn't mean we're not about to play the most kickass Fighting Game of 2015 in less than 3 months.(Double Negative)

Although I can understand the development schedule can be rough, the sooner they can give the details of the special edition (if available), the easier it is for consumers to plan ahead and set aside some funds.

Totally agree, but you can almost assume the Special Edition will be in the range of $99.99 to $149.99.
Still, I'd like for the pricing and details of that to be confirmed soon. Next month at the latest.

No Kollector's Edition announcement is why I haven't pre-ordered yet.
I don't want to get screwed over by GameStop's "in store credit" bullshit again, like I was stuck with for MK9.
Pre-ordered MK9 and paid off the pre-order, only to be told (after it was announced that Best Buy was getting the Sub-Zero Klassic costume and Fatality) that I couldn't get my cash back.
That's not happening again.
If Best Buy or Amazon.com have other Kollector's Edition incentives that I'd prefer, then I'd rather go through 1 of them instead of GameStop.

Unless I'm buying a fairly old game and want it pre-owned(because I'm a cheap bastard), I avoid Gamestop at all costs. Especially if its any version other than just an original copy.

I usually don't mind GameStop when it comes to pre-ordering other games, like I did with Dishonored.

With MK it's different, though.
After the whole "Get Kitana at Walmart," "Get Mileena at Target," Get Reptile on Amazon.com," "Get Sub-Zero at Best Buy" and "Get Scorpion at GameStop" MK9 bullshit, I'm not pre-ordering until I find out which character bonuses for MKX (if any), are at different retailers.

Like this?

I'm just pissed that NRS doesn't keep us posted on when something's gonna happen. Like announce the date for the freaking stream already. I don't mind waiting for something I know is coming; it's the waiting without any knowledge of when it's coming that annoys the crap out of me.

yes, pretty much exactly that. and then still nothing. I will pre order next month if there is a KE or not though. Just thought we would know something by now. I'm not too concerned with character announcements, I just want to know if theres something i can put next to my bookends

Actually, Mileena was at Wally World and Kitana was at Toys R Us.

My bad.
I knew that 1 of them was at Walmart.
Either way, I'm not pre-ordering anything until there are more special editions / special versions of MKX announced.

If there's still nothing announced by March 15th, then I'll just pre-order the regular version for PS4.

I haven't pre ordered either. If they think their pre orders are good now, watch what happens if they announce a special edition.

I can guarantee the majority of hardcores haven't pre ordered, like Commander and I, for that very reason. And trust me, the numbers are greater than Y'all think.

Yup.

If a Special / Kollector's Edition or Tournament Edition with a fight stick is announced today, I will rush and pre-order that shit right away.

I'm on the same boat as Commander and Taj Gill. However, at this stage, I have reason to doubt the presence of a KE, simply because time is a factor. I'm giving myself a self-imposed deadline of March 14th.

As much I want to get the special editions for the game, I will likely get the normal edition of the game to save money. I got the MK9 special edition because I had a job that give me good hours at the time and I was able to save up easily. I just hope the special edition will give us something special then just a comic and a statute of Scorpion. I would like to see them give us a complete arcade collection of MK1-MK4 since the original Arcade collection was taken down.

The special editions for MK9 were announced in December before the game came out. Its almost February and we know nothing yet. If we arent getting them, I wish they would say something because I have friends that wont pre order until they know if we are getting them or not

It's absolutely guaranteed to get a Special & "Komplete" edition.
Its strictly a business decision, to garner more customer dollars with a special ______ version of the game, instead of the generic one. Fear not.

This. I already have MKX pre ordered but I really need to know exactly how much the special edition is going to be so I can start budgeting and putting money away. I also need to know how many special editions there will be. If there is a $150+ tournament edition again with a fight stick, Im gonna go with that one.

On as side note, as for Netherealm hardly revealing characters, does anyone else think this might be a new MK Deception where half the roster is locked at the start? Maybe the characters they are revealing now are what we get for the starting cast. The others we have to unlock, probably via Story Mode

I would love if they did this. Bring back the days when you had to work towards unlocking characters, costumes etc., and when you knew only half of who were in the game. I want that sense of excitement when I'm playing through a Story. Then come across this kickass character that I have to defeat for me to play as.

Nowadays, we know everything about a game before it even releases.

Thank you, Internet. Thank you for all your leaks and spoilers. Thank you for contributing to the death of shock value in video games.

......Dig that sarcasm? Met a girl off my sarcasm ya know.......Kidding.
