Smoke related Spoler Thread - Proceed with Caution

Again, this is a spoiler thread that has to do with Smoke. If you haven't read or don't want to know any of this information, then leave now.

Originating from Prague, Tomas Vrbada was recruited by the Lin Kuei for his impressive ability to escape capture. Able to transform into a wisp of smoke, his talent has proved useful on countless missions. Smoke has no memory of his childhood. His only family is the Lin Kuei, more specifically the younger Sub-Zero, who is like a brother to him. It has been Smoke's hope that through the Lin Kuei he will discover his past--and the origin of his power.

Shao Kahn's violent death shook the very core of Smoke's being and dislodged his earliest memories. Tomas Vrbada was only a boy when he was abducted by an obscure cult and sacrificed to a demon. Burned alive, he returned to the mortal realm as an enenra, a creature of smoke and vapor. His captors were helpless against his shapeless form as he lashed out with rage, killing them all. His murder avenged, he returned to his human form, remembering nothing of his former life. Now aware of his true identity, Smoke understands he is no mere assassin. His destiny has been revealed.

Well, I'm gathering from this, since in his ending he becomes human again, the MK team are going to make another attempt at a cloudy Smoke, like his newer costume designs. I personally liked his new look, with the exception of the gloves and pants looking retarded, but the idea was good. If this information is accurate, (See my thread http://www.trmk.org/forums/showthre...quot-(Some-Spoiler-info-nothing-detailed-tho)) then how would Smoke fans feel about them making another attempt at "human" Smoke cloud design?

From what I can tell, without giving you any information away. He's not cyborg.

I'm glad he's human. The costume which his body was just a cloud of smoke was HORRIBLE. I hated it. I'm glad NRS is going with his human form. I've already read his ending/bio but, it doesn't ruin it for me at all. I'm still super excited for this game. I'm also hyped about seeing Smoke in action performing his moves, combos, and fatalities. April 19th needs to get here.

I can't wait to see his human design and his play style. I think it will be pretty unique. And I can't wait to see his inclusion into the story mode.

But his cyborg model (and the harpoon and other different moves from Human Smoke) are what I really want to see in DLC, more than anyone else.

April 19th definitely needs to get here, but if you are aware of his bio/ending then you would know

I can't wait to see how he looks like and although he technically isn't human from what his ending says, it might simply be to say that he can dissolve into smoke and things like that. Ermac isn't human either, he's a collection of souls in one body, although he does look human.

Well, although the concept is good, he just doesn't feel like a ''good'' guy and if I was Sub-Zero he wouldn't exactly be the first guy I'd chose as a friend.

I liked the concept of smoke actually being made of smoke but he looked kind of . . . homosexual (gay) in the old generation games. I thought he shouldn't have smooth lines and curves. Just a thing of smoke in human shape not like a glass shape of a human with smoke inside it. And wearing some weird ass boots and gloves

I hope he is a ninja, I heard some rumors that he is unmasked, so I fear we might have a MK3 suspender'd Lin Kuei warrior which I really hope it isn't. He should look like a ninja, and mysterious.

It is really going to mess with the mechanics of playing as Smoke.

I hope we can get a DLC harpoon or something.


Anyone else think the alternate costume is just Klassic ninja pal swap, or do you think its a cyberninja pal swap (probably cyber subs body), or something original?

I agree, he should definitely be a Ninja like your avatar. Not that crap in your sig (talking about the Smoke in the middle). That costume makes smoke look like a joke, not a highly trained assassin.

I guess smoke is going to be pretty perplexed. Has anyone heard of Karas? He got a harpoon, but it allows him to approach his opponent or send him/her into the air towards him. I prefer that rather than scorpion's spear

If you read it carefully, you'll notice he's been in human form since after his murderous rage as a child, not after Shao Kahn's defeat.

Touche. My apologies. I'm working on a concept idea for Smoke's costume. I hope you all will check it out when it's finished... however I'm a sucky artist so don't expect a masterpiece lol.

This is what I think he will look like.

I think he is going to be human, resembling the younger Sub (they are best friends and both Lin Kuei so that would make sense).
I think he will have spiky hair... Idk... I just think that would look awesome.
Although being fully human, parts of his body will always be "smoke" or vapor, or "invisible".
I tried drawing this, but I suck as as an artist.
I do like the sickle on a chain in your default though.
