i lookt at the controlles of UMVC3 and it looks like skate 3 controlles so i gues ya cant play it whit dpad or how you call the arrows on the ps3 controller

is it better to buy a fight stick controller for this or wil the ps3 controller work just fine?

There is down forward attacks in this game but it also has commands that mk doesn't. This is a 6 button game that also has charge attacks (hold back for about 2 seconds and press forward and attack button) and it has DP's ( Forward Down DownForward.) It is very different from MK when your talking about special move commands.

Also idk how much fighting game experience you have but this game doesn't have a block button you us away or down away for block.

You can go here to look at the move list for all the characters. http://wiki.shoryuken.com/Skullgirls

@knetzz a ps3 controller will work just fine. When it comes down to controllers its what you prefer. If you buy a stick for this game it's going to be hard learning the game and the stick at the same time. Going from a regular controller to a stick is like writing with your left hand (if your right handed).

thx man for now the onley fight game i have is mk9 so i dont have much experience but i love fighting games after i learned how to play a fighting game id gets so awesome like first you do som losse attacks like punch and after som times of training u pull of a combo (in mk) of like 40-50% thats so awesome but i lookt at gameplay of skullgirls and its all so fast thats wy i wanted to know what controlles it used
thx i think it wil be a awesome game

I would not buy a fightstick JUST for Skullgirls. Since your only other experience is MK9, I don't think it is a great idea, unless you were deadset on trying to learn it. Learning a fighting game is one thing then having to deal with a foreign object to control it is another thing. Like if you already learned to ride a bike just keep peddling.

qcf A quarter circle forward (QCF), or a smooth motion between the down and forward directions (↓↘→)
qcb A quarter circle back (QCB), or a smooth motion between down and back directions (↓↙←)
dp The dragon-punch motion (DP), or a tap forward before hitting down and down-forward (→↓↘)
rdp The reverse dragon-punch motion (RDP), or a tap backward before hitting down and down-back (←↓↙)
360 The 360 motion, or a circular motion that hits all four axis directions in sequence (→↓←↑)

Yeah, Knetzz... this game is going to play nothing like MK9.

nice dit not know that when wil the demo go online on ps3?
double looks so overpowerd lol all the best att oks all the other characters

I am getting antsy to play this game, I am sure the demo will be released same day as launch.

Plus what is up at the 48 second mark on Double's trailer? Is that some sort of mini game or a prelude to a super? She def looks OP, and I am kind of tired of most fighting games having a character that is one giant mish mash of all the existing characters. Love Double's concept but in her story she is 'a copy of everyone else' but I love the nun idea, but would have been sa-weet if she had her own movelist.

The attacks she has all have different frame data and properties making her some what less of a clone of other characters. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIRYpV1_JfY&feature=relmfu skip to 3:45 to see how they altered her normal moves to make her feel unique.

The UK P.R. Department for Skullgirls just did this great interview that imo is what it calls itself. I have replaced the op's video with this one.

My main is going to be Felia and I watched a lot of videos of her and when double turns into her she does a slide and I haven't seen felia do that slide. So I think double will have a few unique moves.

Awesome video n9, just watched it all. Loving how in depth all the animation is and it looking quite polished now. Looking very tight, and looks like it is setting a new standard for the genre of implementing common sense features. Like when you're sparring and you see a little timed bar that shows you how much time you have left to link a combo. Makes sense, duh.

@navi, I think it was at the 15 min mark or so you get to see Filia do the ground slide. It is most likely ankle sock.

5 more days...

Pea**** and Filia are two characters that want to try first. I think Cerebella looks ridiculous with that hat, but grappler characters are usually fun to play as.

@ Johnny_Rook

I have a PS3.

Maybe Cerebella's design will grow on me. Most Blazblue's character designs didn't give me a good first impression either, but after playing the game I started to appreciate the context of the design.

Hey flawless I think cerebella will grow on u cause I hated her design but after I found out the story behind skullgirls and found out that that thing on her head is an actual hat I started liking her.

I never lgot into blazeblue but I was eyeing hakumen for a while. You know what's funny though, that robot girl from blazeblue I forgot her name, her name is a numer I believe but after seeing the locked dlc characters in sf x tk , I noticed that she looks and plays exactly like alisa.

Did someone mention BlazBlue?

lol I love the references in this game!!! There are so0o0o0o many!

I think I'm most exited about bringing all of these new characters to the lab. Like when I bought sfxt it was fun but they all seem so generic I'm hoping Skullgirl's roster isn't that way and by the looks of it they aren't. Can't wait to look for the best combos in a game that I have no idea how to play. So much to learn so little time. Still I can't wait. Not only will I need to learn combos with the characters I like but I need to lean how to incorporate their assists into other characters games. God there's so many possibilities especially since I can pick any attack as an assist. Also have to learn how to manage meter! So many meta games!!!

Never really cared for this game tbh.

But i might still check out the demo if theres one coming out.

What references you see? I see some Rachel Alucard in Pea**** and Arakune in Painwheel. I did read that the same voice actor of Noel Vermillion voices Cerabella

God there's so many possibilities especially since I can pick any attack as an assist.

This is also what I am looking forward to. Will main one character for sure, then start branching into others. I think I will start with Painwheel. But then gradually add other characters that work with my style. Weee 2 more days.

Blazblue itself has lots of references to Japanese pop culture as well as borrow heavily from its predecessor, Guilty Gear.

The closest thing to BlazBlue reference I can think of is two Pea****'s projectiles (a baseball and bowling ball) are also used by Taokaka's Kitty Litter Special.
