Silent Hill

The Silent Hill movie looks very good and I love the games so they better not have screwed it up. Also I love the RE movies, but I hate the RE games so the fact it didnt have a lot to do with the games didnt make any difference to me.

i thought i was the only one!!
i also liked the resident evil movies and didnt understand why they got trashed so much. Silent Hill does look quite good as well.

yeah i saw the movie i liked it,its really gory, 8) i absolutly did not get it and abiusly i have to play the game to get it.Im not a horror movie guy but since i saw Residen Evil i thought why not.It had some spokes not bad enough to not sleep at night.Its not a suspence for you suspence haters (i hate suspence movies they get me nervous) so its alright maybe it would of been better if i played the game huh?

Not so much, better, but you at least may have a better understanding of the the Silent Hill movie if you had previously played some of the games. The main thing I guess is that you enjoyed the movie, so yah :lol:
 
I saw it last night... I don't believe I've ever seen a worse child actress. The fucking Welch's juice commercial children act better than that horrid little girl. Without giving anything away, but being fair to potential viewers, don't go in expecting the same extended metaphor used throughout the Silent Hill games. Very hollywood, and mutilating the more disturbing, intriguing aspects of the VG series, this movie is a pus-filled cyst to anyone highly loyal to the original storyline.

As a horror movie completely removed from the SH franchise, it wasn't too damn bad. Nice gore, nice effects, and a few jump spots. Well worth the $5 I spent on it, minus the people in the theater who kept getting up to piss or shit..or whatever...everyone was just full of shit, I guess...

I really hate it when a movie has well and truly started, then all these straglers wander in with the 'wtf there's no seats n shit' look. Or they come in and stand in the damn way. I'm like 'get the fuck out of my way you moron' jeez.

But my favourite is when Idiots ring themselves or eachother on the mobile/cell phones to make them selves look kool :roll: Jerks!

We don't have Silent Hill here yet, shold I take a hanky to cry in, dude? Is it that bad? You're talking to a SH freak here remember.
 
the movie is amazing. the bad guys are amazing the look is amazing, and the storyline is well done. SK is just a noob

I just saw it. I thought it was badass, very well done especially the look and the sound of it. It followed the games well enough and I thought it was a very good story.

You and Goro have helped me to breathe a little easier by both of you making very positive comments. I was so worried that SH would suck ass :lol:

Then allow me, cheif, to take a piss all over your hopes and dreams lol. I'm a huge SH fan myself, at one time the proud owner of a save file on my memory card that included a save before every boss in the game, and one before the rebirth/devil boss for every ending on the game, before topping it off nicely with a save in the lighthouse before the UFO ending. I even had the Hyper Blaster.

When it started, with the first few bars of that music, I actually raised my power-ballad fist in the air in triumph. And the beginning, aside from sean bean's horrible accent, looked very promising. It all did, until they met the cult, and it went to pot from there. If you don't want spoilers don't read this.


WRONG THINGS (aside from the obvious harry not being female);
Dahlia is not a good character
Dahlia didn't love alessa, she forced her into evil acts
The siren wasn't physical, it was just a noise that sounded when 'The Darkness' came

Too many people. Silent Hill is supposed to be deserted, only summoning people to it when the need arises. Nobody actually lives there.
Pyramid Head was a product of James Sunderlands imagination, therefore shouldn't have been there.
If all of Dahlias relatives hated her and Alessa, then Claudia wouldn't have been in Silent Hill 3
Silent Hill isn't limbo. If you have to be dead to enter that realm, how come Harry lived through it?
The list goes on.


It seems to me that somebody wrote a horror movie, realised it just wasn't good enough to stand on it's own, so changed a few things and called it Silent Hill to give it hype. It isn't a bad film, but it isn't Silent Hill.
But if a few of the names were changed and a few other things, it could have made a pretty good prequel to the first game. But it didn't. And the ending was AWFUL.
 
The cult was kinda gay(and was the only bad thing in the movie IMO), but it doesnt have to be exactly like the games and it IS close enough. And who the hell said Harry had to be in the movie? I dont give a damn if pyramid head was a part of James imagination, it looked badass in the movie(spoiler..... especially when it tore up that chick on the church steps) as did all the bad guys.
