Considering that would contradict one of the biggest branches of the Alternate Timeline, I don't really see that happening. He's a human character now, unlike Cyrax and Sektor who are still cyborgs.

Hell no, Smoke is way better as a human than a cyborg. Though it would be cool see a cyborg version of him but i really dont care, I love ninja Smoke.
 
Costume. Just because IF it's a new character, it'll take the place of another character that could be in there too.

Plus, everybody loves costumes.
 
I'd like him to be a seperate character, and of course a non-canon, "what-if?" character like Human Smoke and Classic Sub-Zero were back in UMK3. I'd love to see how they'd handle him if he did, in fact, become a cyborg in the new timeline.
 
I think there's no need for an alternative costume for Cyber Smoke. He should only have one, just like Cyber Sub-Zero.

i understand that he has a fan base, but that's no reason to butcher the story

I personally would like to see Cyber-Smoke brought on as a DLC character, but definitely as a "what-if" of sorts. There's no way he should have anything to do with the game story-wise.
 
Realistically I could just see him getting it only as a Human Smoke alternate which is fine with me....I dont think we really need it as a seperate character anyway.
 
I would personally want him as an alternate costume for smoke. But I voted for new character because I think that is what most of the community and fans would want. I don't want a new character because smoke has more of a personality now in his moveset. He is no longer a Scorpion clone, well maybe a little, but not like in the old days. I don't think it would be that hard to make his new moves work with a cyborg skin, and I would think it would be pretty cool.

Now I wouldn't be opposed to having a whole new character, and I know it could work with his old moves. And who know what would have happened to Smoke if he turned cyborg in this new timeline. Maybe he would have the spear and tele-uppercut and stuffs. So that can all work out. But still would rather an alternate costume.
 
New character like the MK3 version, with Sektor like teleport and the spear out of the chest and air grab, they screwed that up with Sektor leaving him air grab-less, also most or all of the Ninja should have an alt version or alt costume.
Cyber Scorpion (suit), Cyber Reptile (suit), Cyber Smoke (char), Cyber Sub (char#), Cyber Ermac (suit), Cyber Noob (char) and why don't we give the females a cyber beauty treatment as well, lol. Anyway, lots of suits and characters will show up, so who knows what comes out eventually.
