Scorpion noobs + lag = loose -.-

ok i'm fed up because i keep facing noobs online who keep sing scropion and spam teleport or spear or flame the whole match. only combo i seen them do was the X,X,X one and only once or twice during the whole match. i have no problem beating noobs but the lag makes it impossible to punish,block etc. ofcourse i know they have the lag too but if i'm using a slow character like sub-zero. i'm practically screwed xD any tips? (besides waiting for the lag to go away ^^)
oh and this goes for all spammable ninjas (ermac, smoke too)
 
using Sub online isn't that easy ..u really have to play a zoning game with his clones and when frozen jump-in to his 26% combo ..but it's true ..u have a easier game with faster chars.

edit: if enemy blocks go for 224 pressure.
 
Honestly, I don't know what else to tell you other than to go practice... Scorpion is one of the most punishable characters in the game... He is a high risk high reward character... meaning that he has a pretty awesome arsenal to work with but if he screws up... the opponent has an entire decade to punish him.

So if all they are doing is spear/teleport/spear/teleport/hellfire. Simply block man. If you see the hell fire animation come jump and punish with slide. The Spear and Teleport if blocked take so long to recover from... and of all people to complain to fight against, you are using a character with one of the best zoning/control in the game. You both have that lag and if it is simply a spear or teleport that is beating you then I think training mode is your answer.

or... an alternative would be... if you want to fight a Scorpion that doesn't "spam" those add me on XBL Knee 0f Justice (the o is a zero haha). Best of luck to you, hope that lag clears up for you!
 
lol, Scorpion is becoming some kind of "Ryu" of MK : the poster boy, the propaganda icon, and noobs love him because he is easy to learn, and don't require deep knowledge of the game to start to spamming teleport and kunai chains online .....,.

** Tip : wait for teleport, block and punish with ice ball, 2,1,4 ..... work all the time
For spear spam, block and pay back with slide
 
i have no problem whatsoever beating him offline alot of my friends are spammers. and hey i can even fight him on expert! my main concern is that the lag is working in favor of the noobs >.>

I suggest yomi'n(predicting) alot of the spam by dash blocking. If you dash block at the right time the flame will whiff and everything else will be blocked. If close enough for spear then can J.P combo starter. I know how it can be online especially with this crap netcode we have atm but it is possible. You really have to start yomi'n moreso than you would offline on certain things. You'll get it down in due time jus keep tinkering while in matches online. Offline practice will only get you so far when you have crap netcode. The rest is for tinkering online in the lag~ ^-^

hmm, very well... umm and what do you mean by the flame will whiff. to my understanding the flame is unblockable and even if i move it hits. i usually dodged it by jumping. can you somewhow explain to me this dash,bock,flame whiff occurrence ? ^^
 
*grabs popcorn* *kicks back as I read about people complaining about fighting games 101*

nobody complains about kabals dash, or raidens Kayapapappaykpakyapaia!, or sub-zero's slide...all much quicker than scorpion's spear. Bandwagon haters. :P
 
Spammers are easy to beat... with a perfect connection. Otherwise, as you guys already said, you're screwed.

People mostly complain about Scorpion because that is who 90% of players use, especially the new players(which is most everyone considering the game is 2-3 weeks old). Anyway, Scorpion use will diminish over time, but because he is so user friendly and one of the signature characters of MK, he will be overused frequently.

I have over 300 matches played online and Scorpion and Sub-Zero aren't used as much as you'd think. I find myself playing nothing but Kung Laos, Raidens, and Smokes. What do you mean by user friendly? There are many characters that have "3 hit combos" with the push of one button... there is nothing easier about him than anyone else... in fact, he is a high risk high reward character so if you actually want to get good with him, you really need to know his full arsenal. As much as I hate tier lists, any tier list i see, Scorpion is mid tier at best. I truthfully think some people just need more experience with the game. Play some Raidens and Kung Laos... you don't know easy till you see how some people play those characters... how hard is simply hitting "down up" yet that move is so ridiculously good i dont blame them for using it all the time. I offered to challenge people using Scorpion to show them its not just "lag" that makes them lose. You both have the lag, don't blame your incompetence to block on the lag and "scorpion being cheap" half the cast has teleport moves, some are even faster than scorpions. Scorpion's spear is no faster than sub-zero's freeze... and is even slower than kabal's dash. I seriously do think this is simply a case of just needing practice.
 
If I beat you it's with 45% combos and being able to anticipate and react to your screw ups. Not spamming. This whole scorpion is a nooby charactar speech is garbage. Yes he's used ALOT but few play him well and those who do I wouldn't consider "nooby" at all. hit the block button and if your lagging punish with simpler combos...... It's that simple. add me "Vagrant42791" I'll show you how scorpions played.
 
Use cyrax ans use far bombs, then stand and block. Kabal and Jade work great too because of their low projectiles, but Kabal is better for low projectiles because his blades are faster than Jade's.
 
When i played online (when PSN was working ¬¬) my matches had a 1 or 1.5 second delay, I pressed for example Square in my joystick and the punch was performed 1 second later on the screen, i have a not so great internet conection, so i though that was the reason, is that? or is that the lag everyone talks about?

NOTE. I ask because i though lag was when the game skipped frames during online matches.

it's both. input delay online during lag is killing the game :(

But its a fact that every noob playws scorpion (he IS the most played charakter). 10 Matches and 7 of them vs Scorpion... its kinda annoying. And 6 out of these 7 guys are just ****ing terrible and spam 1 move all the time.

I have been playing more Cyrax players recently, and they are even worse than the Scorpion players. Those games get extremely easy.
