Reptile Thread - "Argh!"

i honestly dont know if its blockable or no, very new to reptile, but after playing with him for a bit, damn, hes crazy. i also hate 2,f+3, 1+2...its the most awkward input ive ever had to deal with, ill get it down eventually.
 
hmm, i didnt realize until i got to page 5 (reading up as i want reptile to be my 4th and final char) that the elbow dash needs to be whiffed. once i figured taht out i was able to do it first try, its not that hard so long as you hold up during th dash and immediatly hit punch the moment you get into the air. got it my first try on a controller.

I could never do it, not even in training room...

lol i love that combo, the input is akward but Raiden has one worse, is "B+2, F+1, 1+2" and Kung Lao has some difficult combos too.
 
you want hard, for me hard was csz's j.1,2,1,iceball,j.1,2,1,1+2,dash,up+4,slide

getting up+4 to cancel into slide is one thing, doing it at the end of that combo and getting all hits to land is just...maddening. spent all day after work yesterday getting it to work.

im sure tommorrow ill be able to get more of reptiles moves down, hes a pretty versatile character by the looks of things, plenty of overheads, some low mixups, great zoning, strong rushing if you can use his dash wisely, and some of the harder combos to land. i like it
 
ye ..happens sometimes ..thats when u hit 1 to fast ..so make sure u did 32xxBB1

what is the xx part ? i was playing around the other night and got the 3,2,slowball once.
its like im a millisecond off and its either a punch or a drop .
it was easier to land the 3,2,1,elbow,n.jp
 
a higher damage meterless combo 34% (without jump in)

1,2,2,ffb,njp,3,2,sfb,3,2,1,slide

ill try and see if i can replace the 321slide with 2,f+3,1+2 and see what the difference is.

Fast force ball and slow force ball most likely.

Always do the fast one first unless you're zoning and the slow one randomly lands. For some reason you end up with more damage.

your first combo has already been posted a WHILE ago and pretty sure that s all the reptiles players BnB's..just saying

the "xx" means cancel

Example: 122xxForceBall, 32xxForceBall, 321xxSlide or 321xxDash, NeutralJP, 32xxForceBall, Forceball, 321xxSlide
 
ah now we know. never felt the need to include the xx for cancel signification. the only time i even think of it as canceling is if it gets rid of the recovery animation of a long recovery move like csz's up+4,slide...or rather xxslide i guess. up+4 is kinda useless without the slide cancel

of course its needed..

with out canceling the last punch of 321 into slide ..the slide would fail. Sure, its just a fast input ..but canceling in this term means, doing it while the combo is still "hitting".

so 21xxSlowForceBall would be 21 while u can see him on the screen doing the 1-punch, immediately press BackBack-3 ..I think it also works mashing Back the whole time while doing 21and then press 3

btw the 21xxForceBall only combos while juggling in the air ..like after a TP-Punish (when he's spinning in front of your head) ..u can't start a Combo with 21xxFB

i believe a cancel is when you interrupt a combo early with a special. for example cyber sub zeros 2,1,1+2 combo...you can do 2,1,slide instead, or correctly typed up is 2,1,xxslide

also some moves just require tight timing to cancel it into a special like inputting the special commands before the animation for the previous move/string even completes.

I love using reptile, can't wait to get his klassic costume :) his fatalities are so..special xD
