Rain in Graveyard stage?

Hey everyone.

I remember reading in the UMK3 strategy guide published by Brady that apparently Rain is visible somewhere in the Graveyard stage. They even have a photo of where he's supposed to be, but to this day I've never been able to find him.

Given that Rain was always from day one meant to be rumour bait, how likely do you think it is that this was just another prank from Midway?

Probably a 50/50 chance it's a prank, but, usually, the strategy guide should contain factual info. Where they messed up on that, I don't know.

I don't know... maybe they're trying to make you look for it, so you can keep playing the video game. Y'know, for replay value. I don't know why they would want to do that, but it's still a possibilty!

I don't know what to tell you. When I was 9 or 10 I glanced at an MK2 strategy guide that some kids were looking at and saw a photo of Sub-Zero as a polar bear in the Kombat Tomb stage. To this day I know nothing more about this, and I still wish I could go back in time, kick those kids' asses and steal that guide.

I remember that guide, it clearly said that those photos were fakes that tried to demonstrate the rumoured Animalities. It had similar photos of Goro, Reptile and Shang Tsung being playable in MK1, Kano and Goro being playable/fightable in MK2, and the existence of a red ninja named Robin.

$$$$$$$

Arcade machines make their money directly per play, remember? If it gets people into playing it (and forking out cash) over and over again, they'd try to do it, nine times out of ten.

Really? Huh. Well thank you for the info, now I can move on with my life.

Wasn't there a rumor that Ermac was a hidden character in MK1? In a test menu, under the words "REPTILE BATTLES" was the word "ERMACS" Only one person ever had a picture of the red ninja, and it was published in a magazine. Ed Boon explained how ERMACS stood for Error Macros, and that rumor was prooved false. So not everything you hear in these magazines are true.

I don't believe it was actually proven false. It couldn't be, really, because the error only occured on an older version of the MK1 arcade boards which were all replaced, so we can't even test that theory.

Is'nt mortal kombat the greatest series of games ever? It's got to be! As we are still talking about what possible secrets there are in a game that was released over a decade ago!
I still think there is an outside chance that there is something to unlock in MK:Gold!
I wonder if people will still be trying to find Deception's super unlockables in ten years time?
It makes you wonder! :D

in MKT rain is visible on the graveyard stage, very occaionally he rises from one of the graves and flies into the air, but it only happens once in a blue moon. i've only seen it once though, but if you are a mugen gamer download kazmer's graveyard stage at www.mugentomb.cjb.net it happens frequently then
