Wow... I am glad they are doing a good job on the DLC characters Skarlet defiantly has her own unique feel in the game and Kenshi looks awesome. I have a feeling Rain is going to have a unique moveset himself. Love the look they have for him. They put more black in his outfit which I really like.

damn straight :P now that we got Kenshi's, I guess we get a Rain video a week before his release so around 12nd? anyhow, a quick comment on Kenshi, was never a fan of him but I did think he had potential and really wanna get my hands on him after seeing the trailer. I don't get why some b*tch about telekinesis though, he doesn't remind me of Ermac at all and he has sword-based attacks as well. Kenshi's looking really good, hoping for Rain to get his fair share of love too. plus, alternate costumes for DLC characters, idk why Skarlet ended up not having hers and if they'll be fixing that soon

marketing and whatnot. Rain is a definite sell even for his haters to complete their trilogy collection, the other characters though? they had to put them to the test first. I don't think DLC will do bad though.. 5 bucks for Skarlet or Kenshi or Rain plus two skins is quite a deal

You just proved my point.

1. Business strategies. They are trying to see how a character with no large install base (like Skarlet and unlike Rain and Kenshi) and less fan demand will sell, so that they can an idea of how largely requested characters like Rain will sell. It's like with box office, you can't judge how much Super 8 would have grossed based on Transformers 3's box office, as Transformers 3 is an established franchise with a large built-in fanbase, like how Rain is an established character with a large built-in base. Skarlet corresponds to Super 8; Super 8 is an original property with no built-in fanbase, and Skarlet is a new character with no install base to anchor its revenue. Why do you think Skarlet was before Kenshi, and Kenshi is before Rain? Rain would sell well regardless if he was the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or even the very last DLC character, so he's not a good gauge at all for how their DLC characters will sell.

2. They are trying to keep people supporting the game and attention away from their competitors. Releasing their big guns right away would ruin that, and it would also eliminate much of the demand for future DLC characters (like Skarlet and Kenshi).

Bruce Norris Forever did a very good statement, agreed.

Rain is a direct fan request to Ed Boon, people in his Twitter were demanding Rain a lot to Ed, and this way, Ed , who is a smart fox, sure was paying attention to that, despite dissimulating the subject. Now, we gonna see Rain, and he will sell well !! XD

same here. when Ed said in an interview he gets harassed on twitter I felt my fair share of harassment to him for Rain-related questions :P well at least look at the bright side, we wanted Rain in, others tweet him to curse and crap like that :P

back on topic though, I hope I get to see Rain's trailer, cause if he gets released on 19th, his trailer should come out around 12nd and I will most likely be in Germany then to a friend for vacations with no internet. fml. I'll just claim the plane has something wrong with the wings or something and make sure the flight is off till I see that damn video :P

Maybe the Rain video will come out on the 11th, a Monday, since Kenshi's trailer came out on Monday. :smile:
 
Am I only one super excited about Rain coming out only 3 weeks from now? And our first ever glimpse of Rain is only 2 weeks away. That's way sooner than I could've imagined. Back before Rain was unconfirmed, I thought we wouldn't see Rain until about November lol.

I like Rain, I'm excited for him to be part of MK 2011 roster, I wanna see his special moves ..... I always thought that a ground teleport like KI Glacius could fit very well to Rain, I did not follow Rain's MK career after MK Trilogy, so, I don't know about others special moves Midway gave to him in other game ......

Nah, lol, I'm really pumped too but with how fantastic that Kenshi trailer was I've been just a smidge distracted haha. Rain's only three weeks away and Kenshi, only a week. July is shaping up to be a godly month for MK haha.
