I rented Mafia 2 when I got home I put it in my PS3. The PS3 restarted and I get the message " The system software cannot be run correctly. Press the PS button to try to restart the system. If the system cannot be restarted, you must reinstall the system software.
Connect storage media that contains update data of version 4.50 or later, and then press the START and SELECT buttons at the same time. For information on how to obtain update data, refer to the SCE Web Site for your region".
I pressed the PS button to restart but kept getting the same result. When I press start and select it says there was no applicable update data. Also the SCE page doesn't help at all. This only happens to the Mafia 2 I rented. I put in Dante's Inferno and it was fine. I went online to update and there was nothing to update.How do I fix this? Should I just go to the store and get another copy?
EDIT: Now I have to restore the file system every time I turn the PS3 on.
EDIT 2: Mafia 2 works after cleaning and taking out and restarting but the next day I get " there was a problem with the start operation" and same issues from last night. So I can't play the game again.
