Player matches and declines

I don't know for sure but my player win/loss ratio is like 1500/700. I go to player matches because I don't like to wait and I get disconnected way less.

What I don't understand is that when I encounter someone who has a win/loss of like 600/100, they decline me. Atleast 50% of them do. Are they going for the easy wins or they don't want an actual challenge? I mean come on, it's a player match after all...

Well, coming from my standpoint:

I am not a very good player, so sometimes when I am just roaming around rooms casually, I don't want to accept a challenge if I am just going to get schooled. It isn't any fun. I like a good challenge, but not an overwhelming one.

Also a lot of record whores get scared when they see a record like that

PM them and say "Your W/L ratio doesn't love you back." LOL

The best players I fought don't have insane W/L records because they only play with other good players. You get better by sparring with someone on your level not by going to the beginners room.

You shouldn't have a high win ratio unless your fighting nothing but people way below your level constantly. If I fight someone way below me, then I quit after the match is over.
People get scared because I have such a high amount of games played but the actual percentage of wins isn't even 50%. People don't think about it

Well they see that high win number and pussyfoot out

The only reason I'll decline is if I'm smoking a cigarette, unless they have a record that convinces me I can beat them one handed, haha!

I will disagree there, not true with every one, theres very skilled people out there that the win loss ratio is incredible, but they do play skilled players only.

Am not one of them, just saying there are some, i know a few of them. :)

You got the greatest signature I've ever seen, I'm crying with laughter lol. +rep

On topic; I thought when someone with a decent W/L ratio declined it was because they didn't want the challenge, i.e. picking on the beginners, but I have had times recently where I've had to do things and leave MK on whilst people challenge me, so from now on I just give people the benefit of the doubt.

I don't go to rooms, I just search randomly. I find it odd/sad/funny that a lot of times the second I enter a room, someone with a 1500/300 record challenges me. My record is like 150-130, it's nothing to brag about. But I'm sticking to ranked matches from now on. My heart beats faster. >=)

i fight people that are at or exceed my level which is at or above average and my w/l isn't the best i have 604 wins and 873 losses and never once have i declined a fight unless they have under 100 w/l.

i'll tell them they are to new most try and add me as a friend but theirs always a rotten apple that spoils the bunch.

I stick the following rules when I play:

1- accept ALL challenges, even it's for one fight.

2- only challenge people with more wins than losses.

3- Always write 'good game'

That for me, is the way of the samurai...lol

People see your w/l ratio and think your gonna pwn them. Even if it's not about keeping a good record. Maybe that player is playing to have fun. and if this guy is 200/125 he would assume you'd win, which you probably would.

80% of the time I will play anyone but once in a while I see 3632/213 then I think. A) Okay he's really good I like a challenge but not a a pure ownage. or B) he probably does something like wall combo all day (nothing against people who wall combo. I don't mind being pressured towards the wall but the people who have the mentality of: wall combo = win only.) I don't like those players sorry.

i agree with 1 and 3 but just because some one has more losses then wins means nothing that's were most of the good players are i have more losses then wins and ask people aroud here they'll tell u i'm no noob.

I never declined because i only do king of the hill matches and when someone good steps in its on! Sometimes you win sometimes you lose records dont matter its just intimidation

My etiquette is to only challenge those with comparable or better ratios than mine. As far as incoming challenges, I accept all. If a 23-85 wants to test my mettle, that's his/her choice. Who am I to deny them the one true death?

i haven't play MK for almost two weeks now and last night when i got nothing to do, i pull an all nighter..i got beat really bad..it's strange how there aren't as many people playing online as before..i guess NRS didn't take care of their shiet and many people quit..only the true MK player stick around and they're hella good lol
