PC version of Mortal Kombat 9...

An overclocked GTX460 is only 2-3% slower than a GTX560, so the real question here is, why do you need a Quad-Core CPU for an 2D-Fighting game?! there are'nt so many opbejcts or DNP charecters in the game, it's not like an open world game with a big area.
i hope it's a good port, i have a decent Quad-Core CPU but i can really feel the pain of people who have Dual-Core CPUs.
and the worst thing about it is, if the port is right, Dual-Core CPUs are more than enough for 90% percent of the games outhere and developers still dont optimize their games for Dual-Core CPUs!

Oh I agree with the CPU part. Hell I ran Skyrim using a Dual Core at medium settings with a 460 and got very playable fps. But with the GPU side of it, like we said, below 60FPS is not an option, that 2-3% can make a difference in that case, especially when not everyone overclocks. Also that 2% difference could be all it takes to jump between 60 and 30FPS if people have V-Sync on. And we all know how annoying that is.

You sound like a guy who buys new graphics card every year. No offense.
2-3% is nothing, you barley can see the difference if the card has 20% more power...
MK shouldn't be more demanding than SF4.

that 60 to 30 FPS drop is a problem that some UE3 titles have had, but there are so many ways to solve this problem.
for example i had this problem with the latest Alice game, i changed a couple of thing in engine.ini file and then forced the V-Sync via D3DOverrider and MSI Afterburner.
so don't worry about that, even if 2-3% slower GPU will cause FPS drop, it wont be more that 3-4 Frames Per Second.

I honestly have no problem playing any game on 30-35fps it is acceptable for me.
If i am able to play this game on 45-50fps i will be more than happy.

I was just trying to say that ppl should really stop looking in Recommended SR that much because it is in their and in GPU/CPU makers interest to write these silly SR!
Because there are these ppl that are buying new GPU every few months and saying on forums: "I will not be able to play this with my GPU i need to max it", "Oh my god i need new GPU rn"... etc which is silly for me.

None taken. I don't, I'm just very into tech. Like I said though, that 2-3% can be the difference between dropping from 60FPS to 59FPS and then the game drops it to 30FPS if V-Sync is on. It's a pain for some, unacceptable for me, others however couldn't care less.

There are ways of fixing it like you say, it won't be a problem for me, but there are others who don't know/aren't interested in things like that and just want it to work, which is why I think the specs will have gone with a 560 rather than a 460. I hope I make sense and am not coming across as the guy who claims to know everything, it's all just my opinion after all.

I'm glad that is acceptable for you. I personally couldn't play a fighting game at below 60FPS. Or most games for that matter.

I understand they may bump up the SR to sell a few more cards, but in my experience the SR have usually been spot on. Then again I am running a 3570 and a 660 Ti so most of the time I'd not know if they had bumped them up as I'm already well above the min requirements.

No you won't be happy because it's a fighting game and you won't see **** from the movement. :D

I guess we shouldn't worry, I have a GTX 560 so I'm very familiar with the card's capabilities, you just don't need a card that powerful for a fighting game. I think the relatively high recommended specs are because of DirectX 10-11 becaise a GTX 560 is basically the entry level DX11 card.

Here's what's funny: MK9 has higher recommended system requirements than The Witcher 2 which is arguably one of the most demanding (and most beautiful) games on the market. :D I played that game recently (it's amazing btw.) and I had 30-45 fps in 1080p on high settings but there were some parts fps went as low as 15 so it's safe to say MK9 won't be nearly as demanding.

As for Deus Ex now there's a realistic comparison: that game runs horrible in DX9 but if you use the DX11 renderer you'll get a super smooth 60 fps in 1080p on maxed out game settings.

I actually contacted GMG yesterday regarding that. Their response was:

"Hi,

As of right now, July 3 will be the latest you could receive the keys.

F.u.c.k. modding. I can't wait for the actual multiplayer! I hope they did it right for Steam... If the multiplayer is good, nothing else matters.
MK9's net code was one the worst, if not thee worst, for a fighting game this console generation. Something miraculous would have to happen for it to improve to a playable level for PC.

Mods are definitely where it's at for MK9 PC.

^ Hola ;)

Well maybe they are still testing MP and other stuff it's like that, nothing strange with Steam. Many games get 1st day patch and are not ready till release.

Guys you must stop worry about gpu requirements. GTX 560 TI was released in january 2011 who of those that play on pc dosent have at least this card nowdays?? I have GTX 560 TI TWIN FRONNZ II OC. The Twin Fronz II OC is an overclocked version of GTX 560 TI that it comes close to gtx 570 stock speed perfomance. So for me there is nothing to worry as i have a card that is already more powerful than what it neeeds(560 ti is more powerful than 560 and an overclockled 560ti even more powerful than 560). Only 3 days left and iwill beat you to death online!! AHAHAHA Add me SHREDDER

You have that GPU??? Really?? Wow you must be god lol.
Many ppl don't have these more powerful cards if you have it, that doesn't mean anyone should have it.

I used to have the card Orokusaki's speaking of, but that was in 2011. I switched to GTX670 last year. So I guess, if Orokusaki is a god with a 560Ti, me having a 670 probably makes me an Elder God.

Yeah, baby!

I am something more than a god. I am the leader of the foot ninjas the most powerful crime organization of the world. The reason i still have a 560 ti is because the majority of the games run perfect on max settings and only a few like metro last light and crysis 3 dont run maxed. But now that by the end of the year more demanding games will start coming (watchdogs bf4 and others) i am considering to buy new gpu next summer.

I love that you "mention" your specs in at least every second post your write. :D I agree though, my 560 is more than enough for today's games thanks to the current console generation outstaying its welcome. Anyway I'm the perfect candidate to test how the recommended specs hold up as that's almost my machine. I have a stronger i7 CPU and 8 gigs of RAM though so it's a bit above the recommended but we all know GPU counts the most and I have a "normal" GTX 560. It's a factory overclocked version but that's not a huge extra.

Is your organization comprised entirely of feet, dressed up as ninjas? Isn't it a little tough to communicate with your members, considering they don't have mouths? :D

Hey, he said foot ninjas. Foot is not plural so maybe we're faced with a ninja foot that has a multiple personality disorder, hence foot ninjas. :D
