PC version of Mortal Kombat 9...

PC version of SSF4 AE uses the much more inferior service GFWL however the netcode of it is a lot better than pc version of MK9 that uses the much more superior steamworks!!! sad but true! When i bought SSF4 AE pc version in july 2011 the first days online was not so active but as weeks passed it became very active and now 2 years later SSF4 AE pc online is stiill alive and active. Same thing will happen for MK9 pc as time passes it will become more and more active.

Game was released barely 3 days ago. Give it some time. Don't expect perfect no lag online from get go. Even ssf4 didn't start all nice and smooth.

After some extensive online play, I did discover that my keyboard kinda sucks for MK, since it's got a serious "ghosting" issue. I tested it with this simple routine:

"Press and hold Left + Right Shift and type the following: The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog".

My result was: "HE QUIC BROWN OX UMP OVER HE Z OG". Pretty crappy. T,K,F,J,S,L,A,Y,D - out of WASD directionals, as well as Y and J being Throw and Block respectively, for my setup. This is totally lame.

Can you guys test your keyboards and post your results here, as I would definitely like a recommendation for a non-ghosting keyboard? My only preferences would include that it is as slim as possible, with soft keys, and it should have a proper classic Enter button, not the new-age crappy Shift-like Enter key.

What about netcode in Injustice ? Is it any good ? If yes, then why not remake MK netcode ? It shouldn't be hard if you have good example on the same engine and pretty much the same game.

It's slightly better, but still bad. Don't get your hopes up, the netcode will never be as good as other fighting games, they couldn't improve it on consoles or the vita, what makes you guys think PC will be any better for a 2 year old game?

From the 51 matches that i played so far only 2 lagged. The netcode is bad but lot of people are saying that while it is bad it is still a bit better than console version.

What about netcode of injustice? We will talk about it when it comes to pc and after we play it.

Guys if you know someone who has major issues online on MK9 pc version then tell to him/her to sent a email to the links we posted above and let the developers know about the problems that some people are having during online. Personaly i have been lucky so far as i have played more than 100 matches and only less than 10 had lag but i can see that some people have major issues with lag, so if you know any of them then tell them to sent email at the links above.

Alright, for all the praise I have given for the port, the game itself has some major problems.

This game has, without a second of a doubt, the WORST unresponsive controls I have ever, EVER seen in a video game of any kind.

10 times in a row I tried to pull off a combo chain and it ed up because the consecutive moves did not execute at all or in time, or better yet, does something completely different than I've input in. And it happens on and on and on. It's especially frustrating when it works in Practice like a charm, but when it comes to Kombat, then noooo. Of course not.

Are you, by any chance, playing with a keyboard, Xenon?

As far as combos go, I did notice a slight delay between the pressed keys and what happens onscreen, which is extremely confusing - you gotta get used to that slight delay, because your fingers automatically interrupt the combo if your eyes do not see the result of the preceding hit immediately on the screen - it is indeed weird. The delay is not a major one, but it is enough to confuse your brain and prevent you from executing the combo correctly.

There must be an option to turn off constant voice chat, it must be one of the reasons why multiplayer lags all the time. Think about it.

Go to C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\MKKE and edit options.ini. There's an entry steam_voice = true, try to set it to false. Haven't tried it myself.

I don't have it enabled anyways, since I don't use a mic - but most people do, and it will be bugging the shit out of them. Especially when they're using speakers instead of headphones: the resulting echo is ultra annoying.
