PC version of Mortal Kombat 9...

Man, I should totally whip up an oldschool machine with only DOS 6.22 installed on it, along with that classic MK3. Too bad my hands aren't that small now, and I can't see myself being able to play with somebody else on the same keyboard, and DOS just won't allow for flexibility in terms of hooking up a controller for the other person.

Though, I guess I could research it...
What you could do is play it in windows with DOSBOx and either using the built in keyboard remapping in dosbox or an external keyboard emulator setup keyboard to fight stick or gamepad emulation and away you go.

Some people create fight sticks that emulate keyboard functions directly.

I forgot to mention.. DOSBox is available for Linux and Mac too so you could do that there too.

Hi everybody! This is my first post here. :)

I am huge MK fan and i was waiting for MK9 to be released on PC just like you guys. I am PC gamer and i was so excited when they announced MK9 for PC.
One thing that i don't like is that Retail version is coming one month later, i am collector and if i can i usually buy Retail games. But i think that i will get Steam and later Retail version of MK9.

I am little worried though because there are no news, only 2 screenshots since announcement and that's all. No new screens, gameplay video, System Requirements or even Pre-order on Steam...
I am not sure if it was posted but zavvi put pre-order on PC version maybe 2 days ago:

http://www.zavvi.com/games/platforms/pc/mortal-kombat-komplete-edition/10812834.html?locover=true&switchcurrency=EUR

I am really looking forward to playing MK on PC, SP and specially MP with all MK fans! :boxing: :turbonaughtdy_1:

^ Yeah but that what you posted is digital version, that one on zavvi is Retail DVD version. It is good price for pre-order imo. Till August i think it will drop or other sites will have it little cheaper. But zavvi always have good prices.

No, not really, what I posted is a digital AND retail boxed version - the boxed one is just about 1, 1.5 EUR over the price of the digital one.

It's all in Polish, granted, I had to use the Google translator to make it out, but still.

I bet they do send worldwide, why wouldn't they? Question is, if you are from the UK, the shipment from Poland to the UK might be more costly, altogether, than the Zavvi price itself ( they did specify shipping within the UK is free ).

I don't really care about those, since I want the game in a digi-only form.

I am not in UK. But yes that is true. Shipping will be expensive to every other country that is not near Poland.

And i am same i wanna have the game when it is available. Will think about retail version later.

I just have few questions if someone can answer.
I am kinda new to Steam i have few games one i got with my GPU and 3-4 that i bought but they are Retail steamwork titles.
So my question is if i wanna buy digital version on other site how is that working?
I know that games on Steam are not really cheap and some online stores have cheaper games so can anyone explain to me how to buy them?
I pay with my card and they send me Steam key? That's it?

On this Poland store i read something about their downloader... what is that about?

I wish someone will post links with best deals later at the end of June here in this topic.

Thanks.

Honestly it's easier just to install Steam and buy all your games from there. Games on Steam are usually VERY cheap. In my experience it's rare to find games cheaper elsewhere. The only time I did that was with Binary Domain, and yes they just email you a CD Key that you enter into Steam which then lets you download it.

Also if you're patient enough, wait for Steam to have a sale. They have them quite often and can be as much as 75% off. I recently got Tomb Raider 50% off just because I waited a few weeks.

I am huge TR fan so i got Collectors Edition :)
But i will be getting MK as soon at is available, so i will get Steam version. I really hope it's not more expensive than 40 euros.

If the retailgame displays Steamworks on the package, you can activate the game on your existing account. You also could create different accounts for each games. The easy way is to go with one account for all your games. Open Steam > Games > Activate Product on Steam

Usually Keystores give out Keys via E-Mail once you have your Code E-Mailed procced with the upper mentioned steps.
Be carefull where you buy game key. Trusty resellers are rare. Make sure you read the product description carefully some do trade RU/RO/JP Keys and they are region locked. Make sure these key stores sell english versions or ROW versions = rest of the world.

So far I ordered from all of these stores: http://www.cheapshark.com/

i am also going to buy steam version because i dont want to wait for so long until retail version release. If the digital version costs only about 20 euros that fine i think. The higher price of the retail version is due to the more context that it has compared to the digital version. Cant wait to beat you online guys!! :) i will DESTROY YOU!!! By the way, i just wanted to ask how active is online community in ps3 and 360 version? Is it a lot of active??

Can't wait to see how you're gonna destroy me :D PM me with your Steam ID so I can add you when the day of the massacre is upon us...

How you know that? I though that both digital and retail version will be the same?
What are differences?
