I've been having problems connecting on my ps3. I live in Australia and thought it had something to do with that... but I can't get beyond the connecting to lobby bit. Anyone else in Australia have trouble connecting?

I just dont like the freezing and desynchronizing crap. When u play a match, there is no lag at all. Not once did I have any lag while playing KOTH and thats a great sign. I'm confident they will get this fixed, I just hope ppl can chill out and be patient enough for them to fix it instead of being whiny babies and trading the game in over it. Tekken was by far the worse game I ever played online and they managed to get it fixed and so will NRS. Just be patient. Yeah its frustrating when it freezes but when you're playing against someone, its nearly flawless, no lag at all and thats what we wanted the most. They will find the bugs as ppl report them and fix them dont worry. Bugs arent that hard to fix, once you find them

Ive had only 12 online matches since Ive owned this game, 4 pre, and 6 post patch. So far I'm 1/12. It's like a totally different game online, I know I could get used to it, but I don't want to. I'd rather do with out MP until NRS can fix it, and if they cant? Well at least its still a kick ass game.
My internet is a little less than nominal but its more than acceptable. MK's MP is a really bad joke.
By the way if anyone near me with MK9, and a good internet connection could hit me up on PSN, well that'd just be swell PSN=galagamo

So this patch pretty much made everything related to the netcode worse, right? Before I was able to join Private, Player, and Ranked matches just fine. Now I get lucky if I can join 1 in 20 matches. So not only can I not attend tournaments unless they extremely close to where I live, I can't compete/practice online now. Cool.

This is heartbreaking. MK9 had so much potential. Now it's only good if you play it offline. Not all of us have the luxury of being able to play with people in person. I just want a time machine back to the 90s before garbage online, crap netcode, and whiny players. I want my arcade back.

Can't connect to anything - Please help
So I came onto Mortal Kombat 9 today and I tried to join a king of the hill and everything was going perfect until 1 minute into their match it told me 'game session is no longer available. So I try to join another a room and it tells me the 'the servers are not available at this time', I try 1 more time and it tells me that 'the network connection to your system has been lost make sure your ethernet cables and router are connected properly' So I unplug my router and plug it back again and the same thing happens. I have the best internet in my area and when I play other games such as Black Ops I have a full bar connection and even when I am lucky enough to even get into a MK9 room before that message pops up I have 4 green zeros beside my name.
Does anybody know what the problem is ? Thank you.

Patch isnt released on Xbox in EU. I got no Patch, im from germany. But the kingofthehill is much more unplayable since some days, it was horrible before but i could enter matches, i mean it was horrible since release, but now, ive to wait like 20 Minutes to get into on koth which is actually running and does not give me disconnects or freezes my complete xbox so that ive to restart it. Its ****ing stupid at the moment... and 1v1 is still lagging like shit + wait times are horrible.
If NRS does not get that crap fixed in June... **** them, i throw that game into the trash and will never ever buy a Game fromt hem again. Its a shame.

Here's what I think happened:
They mistakenly released the patch earlier and some people could get it before they took it out.
What that creates is complete incompatibility between the 1.01 and 1.02 users. That's why usually a online game forces you to update in order to play online. MK9 doesn't force updating so, well, that why we're screwed.
Now, personally, I could download the patch, but couldn't apply it (lack of HDD space). When I tried again, it didn't update. I think I still got v1.01 but there's no way to tell that I know of. *
I'm unlucky to have had this HDD full problem, but usually you know if you got the patch if:
- You downloaded an update 1.02 when you launched MK9.
- It installed and started MK9 afterwards.
If you never downloaded anything, then you still got 1.01.
What you can do is ask in the chat in-game who's got the same version as you so you'll have a compatible opponent and it won't crash.
You could even create a room called V.1.01 users only or something.

The balance patch was already released because they wanted to make the big weekend tournaments better. They weren't going to, but they decided to on Friday on a whim.
But I think the ACTUAL netcode patch is on Tuesday. PSN has it so you could only do actual patches on Tuesday(not just hotfixes). Hotfixes NRS could just do anytime they want to but they need PSN's permission to actually patch.
But yea.... at the moment the netcode is definitely worse.... alot worse....

To figure out the version do as follows;
PS3
Game Menu>Game Data Utility>Hover over to MK>use triangle/information click and see the version number.
