What are your UFC 178 predictions?

Looking very forward to this event which is one of the strongest overall cards in a long time and seeing thee peoples champ whoop ''peaheads'' a$$. What are your picks?

Demetrious Johnson vs. Chris Cariaso (Flyweight Championship)
Donald Cerrone vs. Eddie Alvarez
Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor
Tim Kennedy vs. Yoel Romero
Cat Zingano vs. Amanda Nunes
 
Johnson - easy
Alvarez - gets dropped as usual but lays Cerrone out in the 2nd
McGregor - beats Poirier down like a ginger stepson
Kennedy - beats Romero easily
Zingano/Nunes - don't care
 
Have to take everything back, Kennedy cheated first and got what he deserved, he was holding Romero's glove while throwing uppercuts.
 
Yeah, it really sucked how that fight played out because it was pretty exciting. Ah well. The rest of the card was great. Very entertaining PPV. It was also very nice to see Dominic Cruz. He is one of my favorites to watch.
 
What do you people think? Will McGregor rise to the very top? I am a huge fan and the guy is already like an icon here in Ireland. You gotta love his personality and unique fighting style!

Dude is marketing himself pretty well and puts on great performances. If this trend continues, I see him being a big name in the UFC. What I really like is that he makes it clear that he just having fun with it all, and to not take him too seriously.

He is a very good fighter, but, I want to see him against a great wrestler like mendes, or, against an great striker like Aldo. I still don´t know if he´s capable of make a stand against guys like them.


Here in Brazil, we have a lot of awesome strikers, that fails when face strong wrestlers...
 
I really hope Mark Hunt wins tommorow night, he seemed very down in himself with that interview with Ariel recently. Hope everything works out well for him!
 
It looks like rapper DMX will be the first music artist to accompany a fighter to the octogan as he could be joining Anderson Silva coming out the entrance performing for his upcoming fight with Nick Diaz. Anderson who since joining the UFC has only entered the octogan to DMX's "No Sunshine" said he would be honoured to have him accompany him to the octogon. Both Dana White and DMX also welcome the idea.

I am a big fan of DMX's rap music and love the movies he done with martial arts legends Jet Li and Steven Segal and can't wait to see this happen.

What do you think folks, this happens a lot in other sports like with Mayweather in boxing and in the Superbowl. Should this be a regular thing in MMA or should it just be a once off for the comeback future hall of famer????

^^^Yeah, Werdum is on the form of his life. He is the only person I can see stopping Velasquez and I will have my money on him doing so in the belt unification.

I think something needs to be done about the judging in the UFC, they are in my view ruining the sport. I think poor decision making by the judges cost Johnny Hendricks the belt. He fought a tactical battle and was superior in the grappling and for most part of the fight was superior in the stand up. I had Hendricks winning the first 3 rounds, the fourth round was debatably; you could make a case for ether fighter and the fifth Lawlor finished strong. I've lost count of all the times the judges have got it wrong, I really do not consider these people suited to this position especially when they have no MMA experience it should be left up to the experts people like Ken Shamrock and Dan Severn.

I feel bad for Hendricks because this is the second time he has been hard done by.
 
UFC Contest

With no more title fights in whats left of 2014 I thought why not run a contest for all of you MMA enthusiasts here. Pick who you think will be the champion of each weight division this time next year(who will be the champions at the end of 2015). Make your predictions by wednesday 31st 2014(any after that will not be counted). I got the idea from another forum and I thought it would be cool to have one here too.
