Let's see here, Soul Calibur itself was defined as a franchise after members of the Tekken team took over and made the 2nd game (SC1 that is) what it was. The teams share resources going beyond assets in art and animation. It's not hard to imagine that they can come up with a crossoever engine that would acommodate such a VS game. After all, Heihachi worked just fine as a fighter (and he sure was better than either Link or Spawn).
Alright, then I guess they should just add Tekken characters, and SC characters to Legend of Zelda too >_> Just because the same company made it doesn't make it a thing alike. They aren't, trust me play both games and tell me they play the same. [Sorry for the Smart A. Comment but you get my point I think.] BTW Heihachi was broken. Most of his combos were infinite launchers. [Yes they truly were.] BTW I forgot the Ninja is also from Tekken [In Soul Caliber]
VF has only sped up for the past two installments, and Tekken is far from being a slow paced fighter. Some elements in VF, like recoveries are still noticably slower than Tekken. Tekken 3 in particular smoked VF3 nearly a decade ago in overall speed. The real speed of Tekken however shows with intermediate and higher up matches. Watch any good Lei VS. Lee matches for example.
Doesn't matter. Tekken is fluid [Yes I know slow wasn't a good reply to its system. ] It works way different than VF's new system. (They will use the new current system if they did this keep it in mind.
If you want a game that's infinitely faster than any of the aforementioned games overall, it's DOA. But that series itself is an acquired taste; it's fast though.
Soul caliber, and Tekken are Sony branded only not Xbox related. DOA used to be with sony. I doubt it would ever be concluded.
Comparing any game speed wise to MK is moot. The 3D MK's had worse aesthetic problems such as animations, then there is the whole projectile moves and "fighting styles" that are allegedly authentic. Keep in mind that I have a background in martial arts, so I'm not mocking that for the sake of arguing.
I understand. But the last time two companies made a tag team [or two companies making a game together] such as cross fighters, they worked to improve the fighting systems to help work them.
Soul Edge had unarmed combat btw.. so again, a compromised engine isn't that difficult to imagine. Lastly, I wasn't making up the whole VF/Tekken VS game.. it DID nearly happen on Naomi/DC in 2000 but the idea was dropped as each team was too busy working on their own games.
The VF and Tekken teams are well acquainted too, and even go as far as exchanging little ideas as far as they can push it without breaking the conflict of interest barrier.
