Hello all. I am just putting together an online event for our MK community. I have a date in mind and have created a poll on our official Forums. In order to guage community interest in this event I would ask that anyone interested in an event hosted by us please take part in the poll.

Below is a sneak peak at the Event graphic that will be used to promote the event. Normally I launch events with confidence knowing We can attract the community on our branding and success of the game itself. In this case I am wanting to get some feedback prior to launching the event.

I am still working out private match logistics ( EU and North America players) and settings.
For now we are simply at the planning stages.

Sorry for the lack of confidence but if we can get 8 players to sign up for this event I will make it official.

Remember this is a FREE tournament ( Winner gets a Custome designed Victory banner by EGU) and designed to build a comuinity of players who want to ease themselves into competitive gaming with MK9.

I agree with Critical.


If you're going to do this you're going to need to pay attention to the MK scene and the fighting game community in general.
 
Thats why I started a poll. Feedback and opinions welcome. Can you please use this post to submit dates that you think may work for the community.
I apologize for not being more " In tune" to the communityfor MK. I got lured away by other games last year and never logged as much play time on MK as I originally intended and also never got too involved with the community.

I appreciate the posts rather than letting the thread sit in "silence"
 
Keeping in mind that this tournament would not be a very lengthy event ( 4-8 players) and not tie up a whole weekend

Yeah man EVO is huge but it won't always be on stream. A small tournament like that should take like an
Hour haha. But maybe another weekend.

Also I'm ashamed more people aren't getting into to this. It's supposed to be an mk site. Cmon guys.

Ideally I would like to host both.
At this stage I am purely looking to see how many bodies are interested. This could be the start of something great for our " new to competitive" community and grow from here.
 
I joined the site. I just refuse to play EVO weekend is all. Any weekend is fine IMO, as long as it's not the same weekend as a EVO event lol.
 
Okay well nothing has been put in stone yet. Thats why I created the poll. I see what I can do to avoid the "EVO Weekend"
 
i'm down, evo weekend or not. unless treadmill is in it, he is a no good cheat. he likes blocking when i'm trying to hit him and then countering and making me pay dearly. hahahaha
 
Currently I have 4 votes on the poll for " July 7th" . Does that mean that the EVO 2012 weekend is not a factor?
 
Not everybody watches EVO. If the tourney was on EVO weekend I definitely wouldn't play, but thats just me.
 
I will adjust the poll to include a different weekend as well. Lets keep the poll active. I may have to " outsource" to a different forum as well as well as this one. The activity here seems to be just you guys ( 3-4 peeps)
I am hesitant to introduce this to other forums because they obviously dont recognize any events beyond the Sanctioned stuff ( Ive tried in the past on a passive level and inevitably we get shunned)
If any of you know of a good community driven forum that would love to get something like this off the ground let me know...
 
The type of people that Im interacting with here ( you guys) are just the type of community I am hoping to find and the backbone of which we can build our competitive fighting game division with...
