Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

Well, this "someone" should be either working on WB or someone who worked on original games, cause it looks like they only needed this "someone's" approval and "he" either was big enough to say final "no" or asked for too much money (like "i was a co-creator, give me my 50%") for it.
Should be someone big (one way or the other), since noone have a power to say his name to us.

To be very clear, we never received an official CnD which is an actual letter. Bleed was just told not to make a game from his artwork. He wasn't told to stop creating artwork just not to make a game of it. That being said, it wouldn't surprise me if that warning was related to this information you gleaned from Anthony Marquez's son.

Anthony Marquez's son told me yesterday that
the MKHD game was NOT cancelled because of
quality issues, but stopped because of "politics".

he said the game was finished and ready to go,
but it was stopped. It wasn't cancelled
because it sucked or was going to suck, he
made it pretty clear. He actually surprised me
how smart and articulate he was for his age.

He wouldn't give me any details but he acted
like he let something slip when he said
"SOMEONE" (One = One Person) stopped it.

I have no idea if that "someone" was internal or
external to NRS.

I wonder if this projects CnD is related???

This looks great, but the proportions seem a bit too wide, especially in the helment and upper body. Instead of comparing them by placing them next to each other..put one on top of the other and then turn the layer on and off in Photoshop. Should become more apparent to you then.

If i can offer some healthy criticisms for improvement,

What i did to the image, and i think you should look at to see how you can improve your already pretty good Sektor, is the following:

25xlNp.jpg

-Thinned out the head, made it taller, the silver horn-type tips i raised above the black areas, with the black between widened.
-Made the vest slightly wider and short, at the same time thinning the abdomen.
-Thickened the arms.
-Slightly rounded the jawline.
-Shortened and lowered the kickpad and kneepad, thickened the red band around the calf.
-Made the bicep pads more angular.

I would say try and keep it in this type of outline.

Quick note, the curvature of the legs shows that the kneepads are actually on the shins. this is actually evident on the running sprite.

Someone from the law dept. of WB. He won't reveal her name and I understand why since she would likely be harassed for it by some crazy fans.

No game whatsoever using Bleeds artwork. Why don't they care about allll of the mugen builds? I guess those weren't comparable in quality to a final product.

Was he told not to make a commercial (you know for $) game or free fan game as well? And by who exactly?

These models and animations look top notch.
Are you using 3DS MAX? Which simulator/plug-in are you using for the cloth?
I really liked how realistic the cloth is.

Thanks man,

This is how I did it:
I Used a base mesh provided by another forum member (gojira) made a few changes to match ho sung pak's proportions, exported that mesh to 3dsmax, rigged and skin it using CAT BIPED and CAT MUSCLES wich is a bone system within 3dsmax, hair was done using 3dsmax hair modifier, and cloth was done using 3dsmax cloth modifier aswel

You mean 3ds Max Cloth Modifier for the cloth right?

The new UMK3 theme is great. I wasn't big on the previous one but this one really hits it.

The MK2 song, most of the elements are there, but I think is a bit too heavy on the bright side of things.
I'd expect the percussion and the bass elements to have a greater presence.
That wood banging sound that's so prominent in the original is much less evident in your version, and seems softer, like less violent, as if the stuff they are banging is much smaller.

Great work nonetheless.

Thanks, uK! I didn't worry TOO much about faithful recreation with these. They were really just for fun. Glad you liked 'em!
