Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

So after Lui Kang is finished we'll have all the animations for the following characters? (please correct me if I'm wrong)

- Lui Kang

- Scorpion

- Sub Zero

- Reptile

- Johny Cage


The animations and character models for those characters will be completed once Arq finishes up on the last few Lui Kang animations....correct?



Which leaves.....


- Raiden (character model is finished)

- Sonya (the model is almost finished it seems)

- Kano (I think I've seen a rough draft of the character model in this thread)

- Goro (currently being worked on)

- Shang Tsung (same as Goro)


.... I think that's it.


@Bleed should send Raiden's model to Arq asap so he can start animating it immediately after he's finished with Lui Kang imo. If we can get atleast one character fully animated a month we can probably expect the project to be finished sometime in 2015.

Those are really nice spectations but you are kind of insane my dear friend, there is no way in this world one character can be fully animated in a month, trust me!! And about me animating raiden!! I'm pretty sure bleed will be back soon, liu is almost there and than I might animate goro and about Sonya I'm pretty sure Chris will animate her now that the model can be called done
 
So basically it is just slightly less ridiculously proportioned characters and now you can use arena based weapons on your opponent. Just read that this entire fight was basically pre-rendered 3D but should look 'close' to the final game play. I'm so far disappointed. Who knows maybe it'll be really cool. When you only have 1 stage and 2 characters to work with on screen at a time, the game had better look as smooth as that preview video.

Anyway. No, it's not stupid. Pre rendered trailers usually want to impress people, and most of the time the game come out worse than that. So, it's perfectly fair to assume that the in-game animations will be at best like what was shown in that trailer. That is what the people working on the game think it's good, and they will not go very far from that.

Come on, guys. It's Mortal Kombat, not a hardcore fight simulator. It just have to be cartoonish and over-the-top in its animations, look, style. Trailer look really great for me.
 
I think you played nothing except latest MK. Models should look realistic, like it was in MK1-MK4.
Trailer wasn't quite imressive, I didn't notice anything special.

P,S, Besides, both Sub-Zero were killed in MK9.)

I really like the new design of scorpion.. I HATE WHEN THEY GO CRAZY ON DETAILS LIKE MK9 SCORPION, just to much bullshit to be wearing, less is more, and the problem with this trailer is that ALL THE CHARACTERS FROM MK9 MKX fight just the same way, ALL OF THEM.... why? maybe because the use the same guy (carlos pesina) to do the mocap, so every character just have a different stance but the fighting is the same in all of them.
 
I'm just glad that scorpion is wearing black and yellow.


Looks like MK9+MK4+IGAU with a 'lil MKDA

The new dragon symbol looks like he has down syndrome.
like he is the slow cousin of tobias' dragon.

I just want to IMPALE people with weapons again!
 
I actually thought both designs for Scorpion and Sub-Zero were spot on. The anatomy looks a bit better too (MK9 was just puke-inducing!).

The trailer was OK bar some stiff animations and the awful music.

Wouldn't call this a "next-gen" MK though, they're still using a modified UE3. Improvement, yes, but not next-gen.

Really nice first try!
The muscle deformation in the torso looks great.

To make it better, I'd make his head face the camera, instead of down when he screams.
I also think the scream should be longer, maybe twice as long, holding the bent knees position, and I'd
make the hands move a bit down after they come together at the center.
I think I'd also make the head shake more subtle. The shake in the hands looks good.

Then for the final pose, he is bending too far.
The motion in yours is good, but the bending should stop when the tip of his fingers are at the height of his chin.

Really nice work, man.

sorry bro!!! but I won't be working on two characters at the same time, and about shang tsung, it was done by call and all the animations are ready.

maybe cal can post some of them so everyone can see them! I don't recall seeing anything but the stance
 
Hey duders, stuffs looking good! Glad to see this project hasn't been totally abandoned.

As I said I would, I've put together a ZIP file for all the tracks I have made for this project (I think). Since no game can be made from this project, might as well share what I've got. Maybe someone else can find a use for them.
