Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

It's just practice, and I use training videos from The Gnomonworkshop, CGAcademy, CGcookie, eat3D, Jeff Lew, youtube, etc.

That looks just incredible.

I'm only bothered by his hands looking too red and his face seeming a bit too chubby at the bottom.
I know you won't be touching the model but maybe you can pose the hood so that the bottom of his cheeks doesn't look so big.

Also, I guess there's not much that can be done to make his hands longer and more triangular instead of square, it's there?

Also, a tiny detail but it can't hurt: the right thumb is supposed to fall within the contour of the hand in the final pose.

For the finishing touch I'd suggest some depth of field effect and some heavy film grain for some lo-fi effect, but that's of course just me.

Congratulations for a job well done.

Here's this.
Hopefully it should give you some ideas.

Raiden-profile_zpsc823fafb.gif~original

I reshaped and color corrected the hands (mainly muted the redness), centered the "core" in the eyes a bit, reshaped the chin (probably achievable posing the hood as I said before), and moved the mouth around a bit.

EDIT: I also did a bit of color correction on the whole scene, raised the exposure a bit (yes, there is overexposed areas but I didn't mind much since there are also in the original), and made the lighter background fabric darker so that it doesn't blend with Raiden's clothes.

great animation bleed, I notice just few things

1. raiden's right hand should disappear from the view when the camera makes the closest approach to raiden and the zoom the camera makes should be more aggresive, notice the hat completly disappears on a frame

2. the overall tone of the scene should be more cold-blueish and a little higher value on the light intensity

congrats

Well, you're right on the scene coloring.
I updated the image I just posted, adding some full-scene color correction and a couple other touches.

About the camera motion, while it doesn't bug me that much, you're probably right too.
Maybe it lunges forward a bit more violently (I don't think they used zoom there).

Wow. That animation is beautiful.

Just for the fun of it, I opened Raiden's video up in it's own window while playing version 9 of JustinSlaughter's "In the Beginning" and it just gave me that gut emotional response I think is really the key behind this whole project.

I consider myself a mostly silent observer of this thread, popping in every now and then when I think it makes sense. I've seen a lot of discord but I sincerely hope you guys keep going. I, for one, don't care how long it takes to complete this because I can see from the WIP it'll be worth it. Just ignore the naysayers! They only serve to slow the process down.

Something that I just noticed.
Bleed, can you add motion blur to the animation?
I think it will especially help the right hand.
And I don't think it can be added in post, since that motion is so fast, there's barely one visible frame of the hand.
There's no way to interpolate motion from that.

I'll do it uKER. I have a sophisticated After Effects Plugin that tracks motion vectors in 2D and turns them into 3D before applying the blurring effect. But it renders in 1/10th the time real motion blur would take to render in 3D. Should incredible on Bleed's already incredible source animation.

As I said before, given that that motion only takes one frame, I don't think any software can make out what's going on, but I'll give you the benefit of doubt.

Sorry, missed that part of your comment. Still I am going to have more control rather than Bleed would in 3D
