Wish this fatality made it in the game. Maybe we can put it in as an optional boss fatality since technically it was supposed to be in the original game.

Yeah you did and it's great, it's like 90% accurate to the original one.
Someone later posted small pic of the exact same one used in the game,
so I was trying to find that one in bigger resolution but with no success.

Lol, nice catch. Yeah, that should be fixed. "Large some of money" doesn't make any sense.

EDIT:
I know this project is not about this, but recently I found out some stuff that never made
it to the MK1 but were intended. This is from the interview with John Tobias:

Can you share with us how the idea for fatalities came about in the first place during the development of the game?

Tobias: I remember it starting with a finishing move for Shang Tsung. We had him pull his sword out to cut off the player character’s head if he lost. I believe we taped and processed the art, but I don’t recall whether Ed ever got that working in game. I know that the characters’ reaction to that, where they slump to their knees and fall forward, came from the Shang Tsung fatality. I believe we used those frames to put together the first fatality, which was Johnny Cage punching off his opponent’s head.

And here's what he's talking about:

Part of the unused sprites form MK1, discovered by Fly of MUGEN community.
First ever fatality that never came to be.

Ok fixed:

PALACE_GATES_HD.jpg

Nice changes on the Palace Gates. Love the new statues, and Buddha is looking good.
Hope calactyte won't freak out but there are few things I wanted to point out a long time ago.
I'm not really that good with Photoshop but here are a few things that's been bugging me about
Palace Gates:

Original:

What I think should be corrected to closer resemble the original:

My attempt:
(download photo from here, image sharing sites don't allow huge resolutions)
http://www.adrive.com/public/w8wFPr/PALACE_GATES_HD_corrected.jpg

-Changed Buddha and walls next to his knees color to better fit in
with the rest of the walls, statues
-Moved Gate statues closer to the original position
-Moved torches a bit (to the center of the wall they're on)
-Made central path much wider like in the original
(it also fixes perspective problem with path in relation
to the Gate on the right, and stone blocks in the left corner of the stage)
-Made walls that connect to corner flaming pillars higher

Just my 2 cents.

This is absolutely amazing! I wondered why he had a sword on him. I also wonder how many other things were left out or unfinished, if a person could get a hold of the original footage, a lot of moves could be added in. Not to this project, but to any of the MK mugen characters.

Too bad, the original footage hasn't been leaked, (except that brief video of Johnny Cage and Kano, which isn't the whole video even of these characters.)

How did you find the Shang Tsung sprites? Any time I search on Google for images like that I never get anything. What search terms did you search for exactly?

I believe ded_ of MKSecrets posted it on their facebook page.
Most of them, if not all were ripped by Fly and posted on MUGEN forums
for quite some time now.

I'm mostly interested in MK1 stuff (since it's my favorite game) there's stuff from
MKII and MK3 too, so go to Mortal Kombat Secrets facebook if you're interested.

I've seen these sprites used in MUGEN projects too. This one for example uses
slightly modified sword sprites and Shang laugh sprites:

I'm all for keeping it close to the original game as possible, but I'd sure as hell like to see this fatality.
I remember back in the day there was always talk of this fatality, because Shang had a visible sword.
There was this kid swearing on his life that Shang took his sword out and cut his head off once,
which of course happened when he was alone in the arcades with nobody else to see it, lol.

Thanks for the link to the MK secrets Facebook page. I actually went on the mad search after seeing your original post and found a bunch of stuff like that.

MK1 is my favorite also.

Something interesting I discovered in MK2 on the arcade kollection, is if you are knocked down, if you hold down before you hit the ground, you'll skip the getting up animation and immediately go in the crouching animation regaining full control. Same works of you hold up, you can counter with a jump kick before your hit the ground.

Try it! It's like fall cancelling.

Yeah, that works on all 2D MK games. It's actually pretty basic thing if you wan to be any good
against human player. Especially if you use Rayden, it take ages for him to appear from the floor,
and it can be punished mid-animation if you don't use quick wake-up:
