wow calactyte... Who do you think you are to question someones work ethic or/talent just because they don't spend every free moment working on a non-paying side project? You should feel lucky to have anyone's help... especially since you can't do the actual work yourself.

I've read all your posts and if I were ANY of the folks that you have made backhanded comments to including Bleed and Interloko I'd tell you to piss off and do it your damn self.

I think you owe Interloko an apology seriously... People have lives and even more so, they may not have the motivation to want to work on a project like this, but that has NOTHING to do with someones work ethic!

Wrong. No one, but Bleed has put as many hours into this project as I have. I have a full time job, a wife, a kid
and freelance business yet I make time for this project. I understand this all with free time but when there isn't progress shown in months
I call it as I see it. Yes this is a free project but we need people to work or else why waste my time? Is that fair to everyone else that works so hard on this? Who aplogizes to them? I am not going to argue with you on this. If you disagree and think I am out of line, simply put me on ignore. I like Interloko and I think in the past he has done some amazing things with mugen. I just want to experience that with this project.

And what are you rambling on about Bleed? I haven't said one negative thing about him since this project started. By Bleeds own admission this project has not been his focus since he is working on his portfolio. I respect that 100%. Now if Bleed doesn't do anything on this project for 6 months, I would seek yo find a replacement. The goal is to finish the game not pat each on the back on what we have accomplished in the past.
 
Right and actions speak louder than words. Thanks for starting to work on this project again Interloko. We really need your help.

If you guys are looking for more 3d modelers, you could trying putting word out on the internet advertising the game. Maybe it would pull some more in. It usually seems to be people who want to help have stumbled upon this site on their own. I don't even know where you'd look though, so if anybody knows of a site where there are these people, you could try that. Just suggesting.
 
Guys, please, don't respond to people who are flaming, just hit the report button and let the mods/admin handle it (thank you to the person who did this).

I banned him for his actions, please do not engage in doing the same thing. Report button, it's a great tool, and keeps others from getting in as much trouble as the one starting it.


This goes for all the petty little comments in between. Just cut it out and respect each other.

Wow, this used to be such an amazing, inspiring and fun thread/project but there's been so much drama lately :( There are so many talented people working on this, and then there's also a few people who haven't demonstrated any practical talent but still try and try to take over this project, when their initial reaction to it was to say it was stupid and unnecessary. I think more people should know what their place is and hold their tongue sometimes :???: I know everything you guys do is way out of my league, so I've kept my observations to a minimum post every blue moon. I hope difficulties will be sorted and the project will kontinue.
 
good morning everyone, I guess this is my last animation till January, since I think this is my last week at the office, so what I will do is that I will start making sprites from all the animation I've done lately and upload it to dropbox so interloko can start coding liu again so you guys still can see some progress on liu kang the days I'll be off, I will still coming to the forum but no updates for a while


 
I'd try to rotate the right fist so that its back faces the camera, even if it doesn't match the sprites, to help cover up that little mishap with the location of the knuckles.
As it is, it looks like the first has no mass.

Either that, or retouch it frame by frame.
It's not impossible to do. I may attempt to do it later.

I love the subtle footwork! The little shifts in weight as he leans forward. Beautiful. Also he's so expressive. Looks fantastic! I can't wait until January to see what's next!

Hello Everybody

I have come across your thread recently and I have to tell you that i am amazed and impressed by what I've seen. Big ups to all whom have worked tirelessly on this project! I salute you. That being said, I would just like to find out if when the game is complete, if anybody would be releasing sort of an unofficial "Prima guide" for the game,because if not I would like to give that a go, just for a digital collectable so to speak. K1LLKano is familiar with me from deviant art and another Mortal Kombat site, and I would like to collaborate with him on this. I Illustrate quite well and Kano has amazing digital colouring skills. Perhaps it would also bring a further motivation factor to the project. Anybody object? K1LL?Would you be interested?

There's just one single thing which I immediatly noticed and which is the only thing I have to object, and should be adjusted, IMHO:
During the low punches, the left punch has a much longer "reach" than the right punch. This could be problematic in battles, where the left fist would hit, while the right fist would miss.
The animation should just be adjusted that both of the punches have the same reach, and you've got a perfect animation!
 
He's right.

Your punches are probably hitting straight ahead and due to the slanted perspective in which the torso is seen, both punches appear to have different reaches.

You should set up an invisible point in the middle, ahead of him, and have both fists punch there.
That way they would both match.

About the punches, you don't even have to change the animation. In MUGEN all you have to do is, have the hit boxes for both punches be the same or have an average point. I've had a similar problem with some of my sprites.

Let's try to explain that better. Just have the shorter punch have the same hitbox zone as the longer punch. That way, both punches hit the same point no matter what.

The same problem can occour with the distance between the high punches and the low punches which obviously will reach further than the high. You just create a common ground in code for all of the punches. Since they essentially all do the same amount of damage in that game.
 
I want to ask sething right quick about a post someone made I forget who saying they have begun working on a mk2 hd for future release etc.

Would it be possible to use the programming juano16 did for his mk2 game? If so then all you would have to do is litwrally replace the images with your hd images to make the game... true some adjustments would have to be made but the programming would be done.

Is that possible?

I think you guys are doing a good job and you shouldn't let stuff get to you guys... I knew that carz guy was a smartellic a long time ago when I was talking to you about the timing of the scorpion fatality.

If you get to the point to qhwrw you arw ready to quit or walk away and just give out what you did or think about doing so... the best thing is to just take a break a while and completely empty your mind about the game until you become rwfreshed and want to do something on it.

If your working on something and are tired or aggrivated you will not be at your best and things wont be as good as they can be.

Take my word for it... relaxing and having fun is wherw its at and this stuff is suppose to be fun.

I have the upmost respect for you guys and appreciate this creation. I look forwars to seeing the final product.
