Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

Thanks a lot bleed, about liu I just needed to breath and do something else, also I've posted the first ending picture and I didn't received any critics, maybe it was too good or too bad LOL, just someone asking to photoshop it, next week I will post the second ending pictures.

How is cage doing? Will we see something else soon?
 
I'm glad I found this post! The work I've seen so far is amazing.

When they announced that beating the 300th challenge of the latest MK would get you something amazing, and we all thought the HD remake would be it I was so excited. Then it was one of the biggets gaming dissapointment of my life. So I ended up with this.

Not that it could be of any help since it's not really well done, and also doesn't match the art style, but here's my little tribute to MK. I believe it's a nice place to post it :D

You're right the Goro's Lair image doesn't match the current art style at all, but for what it is, it looks awesome. If someone ever made a dark gothy version of the game, it would fit nicely.

Hey guys, amazing work so far.

I have a question about the music and sounds. Will there be an option in the final version to select sounds and music from the original arcade, or the new version?
 
You can make an option for the music and sound, I've done it before. Use the constant variables while playing the game or set it in the basics file by hand before running the game.

but when i started to work, i encountered several problems, however i've worked with mugen before.
i want you if possible for you give me a prototype of your HD mugen even with one character and one stage, till i replace everythings (sprites) with minimal changes.

Arq, root thickness seems too high so the hair transition from forehead skin to hair looks kind of odd. I don't think it'll be too big of a deal since you won't notice it anywhere but in closeup shots like this one. The hair is looking much better here though.

I'm back with liu, I fixed the hair so it matches the pic, totally different hairstyle LOL, comments are welcome :)
Nice work on the model. Here's some suggestions:
- His shoulders are about 35º from the camera plane when they should be about 10º, that is, his shoulders should be more parallel to the camera plane.
- I don't know if it's the lighting or the different angle, but as I said before, his chest appears HUGE.
- That puff of hair falling from his forehead should go nowhere near touching his eyebrow. In fact the hair should mostly go up, with just some strands going down towards the forehead. Here's a rough reference for where the hair's outline should be.
- His nose should be about 20º narrower. Especially the center "piece".
- The dimple below the nose should be much narrower and certainly not v-shaped.
- Lower lip should bend down a bit on the sides.
- The light coming from the right in the picture should be more yellowish and located more to towards his back.
- His teeth look all crooked. I think it would be best to hide them. Perhaps repositioning the light as I said before could help.
- Those should be easily fixable in Photoshop but there's these strange marks in his forehead...

Nice work on Lui. Special thanks to uKER for providing such detailed critique. Please don't give up Arq, your work ethic has been fantastic throughout this project.

Everyone PLEASE stay focused. I know real life sometimes takes over and so it should from time to time. But this game isn't going to build itself. A lot of people are counting on us, I don't want to let them down.
 
thanks cal, I'm glad you appreciate my work, and about Uker's comments, I really appreciate that he took the time to write such a detailed comment, I just have to ask to him to be a little easier with this, painting in photoshop is not like making a 3d model, there are some things like 20º narrower that will be just impossible to see when the portraits gets up to scale and color reduction.

I now we all just want the best of the best of the best for this project LOL

according to uker's comments here is what I did, there are some other things that will have to be fixed in photoshop like forehead's hair angle, some highlights and some other minor things but it will be a piece of cake for MrMos3s

@MrMos3s when will we see liu's portrait?? I'm counting seconds
