Mortal Kombat banned in Germany

I just read a new article on IGN, that the new MK game is banned now in Germany aswell.
I personally don´t care, i always import my games, the only thing are the DLC´s. No DLC´s for German Xbox players :(
Damn, i guessed it. This country sucks if it comes to video games.

Really? I just can't understand why. The gore in mk is animated, it doesn't even look real. MK's gore is nowhere near as graphic as what we see in film.

i translated it with google chrome but it still doesn't makes sense when i try to read it

Germany is the Australia of Europe when it comes to movies, music, and video games. They're pretty strict when it comes to for-adults stuff.

i posted it somewhere in this forum...
games or other media cant be banned in germany before its release... only after that...
the link tells us that mortal kombat didnt get a german rating and it wont be released in germany... local shops will sell it (even malls)...
if a game gets no rating it can be "indiziert" (just not for sale under the age of 18, no advertising in public) or "beschlagnahmt" (banned by court - sale etc. is forbidden... but you can legaly buy it and have it)...

these things can only occur after the release... and mostly it takes time so a game will be banned by court after half of a year or even longer...

Alien Versus Predator is just on the index here... so you can buy it legaly... dead rising is banned by court...

who wants to know more i posted it somewhere in a thread around here with links and descriptions what is banned or indiziert in germany...

here it is

It was banned in Australia as well...

Germany and Australia's laws are extremely biased against Video Games. So I hope they enjoy the lost profits when the MK fans over there just import the game anyway.

Im happy to living in a "third class country" nobody gives a buck in "games rating themes". That explain how i play mortal kombat 1 when i was 6-7 years old.

I was playing MK2 here in Australia when I was 6 also. Australia has absolutely no continuity with it's arguments.

Believe it or not I haven't yet uppercutted someone's head off! Though according to the media here I should be one of societies most feared psychopaths by now.

i was also playing MK when i was a child or watched splattermovies...
you have a lot of video rental shops or flea markets where they sell or borrow banned stuff... most people dont care about here because mostly even the police (at least in berlin) doesnt know about or doesnt busy oneself with these things because its ridiculous...

in germany there are only about 22 banned games... (within nearly 60 years)... but a lot of banned splattermovies (about 150)

I live in Germany. But hey, no problem at all. I just preordered my copy in the UK. But theres Austria, France ... so no problem at all to get the game in Germany :)

I also live in Germany. I preordered MK at GameStop. That's why I don't care about MK being banned in Germany. The only bad thing is about PS Store. Is it possible to buy and download things from US Store?

Last year i went to Gamescom in Germany, and the showed MK behind close doors, and not for the public but only for press..
I tried to get in, but they wouldent let me, im from Holland and the new MK and a special showing from Capcom was 2 of the biggest reasons i went there.
But like i said they wouldent let me in :(
So because of that, knowing how Germany reacts on games, this was something that dont come as a suprise to me..
