Mortal Kombat 11 General Discussion Media Thread

Still don't see the problem, all 3 of these characters make sense in these colors. If we see red/gold Sub-Zero default then we can worry, but for now it isn't that big of a problem

How does Raiden make sense in gold and red?

If anything, this makes more sense for him, given that it's closer in color to what he usually wears (don't care for the blue accents, either)......

Which is a possibility that I can realistically see happening, given that the 4 characters they've shown so far are all plated in gold.

Kronika, Shao Kahn, Raiden, Scorpion (the only one who makes sense with it, imo).

I just finished going through MK9 story mode and something dawned onto me. Now that is just an assumption, but I think it is pretty plausible.

While I see the reason for using Timelines, for game mode purposes, I still found it strange for story purposes. It felt like reusing MK9 story mechanic. We already had time travel. Why bring it up now with Kronika? This brand new character we never saw in original MK timeline... wait. Why would we see her in there in the first place? She deals with time. During original timeline, there was no time manipulation, except for the very end, where Raiden warned his past self, in hopes of changing the original timel... oh wow.

What if, Kronika is pissed at Raiden for changing the timeline? She had this nice timetable, and this puny Thunder God ruined it all? Everything is chaotic and out of place. And this chaos causes "malfunctions" in time and timelines start merging together. Past and Future meet in the present. Characters from different timelines with different outcomes meet each other. And all of that is happening, because timeline is trying to find the balance and somehow repair the holes.

It could be that original timeline said "Shao Kahn must win". And Raiden changed that by killing Shao Kahn. And the only reason why that didn't happen during MKX, was because they haven't reached that point yet? But after MKX, Timeline reached the point, where Armageddon is supposed to happen, and Kronika is like sitting and waiting for Armageddon to happen, only to find out that Shao Kahn is dead, no Blaze, no Armageddon event to begin with and current timeline is having fun in peace.

Well... in Raiden case, blue and white doesn't ft him right now... as he is Evil Raiden. He has red on him.

Raiden in Mkx is wearing gold at the end.
Shao Kahn is a Emperor/Warlord makes sense for him to be wearing gold
Scorpion in many iterations has gold in his outfit. (Injustice , Mkx gold costume)

Raiden's wearing copper, dark brown and red tones at the end of MKX, and it can be better seen in his ending Bio. Not gold.

My issue is more with how everyone, so far is donning gold.
Kronika, Shao, Scorp, Raiden.......

I feel like your really close on this one, from both the Injustice 2 intro hints and just my general theorizing, it most likely is that Kronika is trying to correct the mess Raiden made of timeline, causes different outcomes and histories to merge together, which could be used as an explanation to bring dead/younger characters back. Also want to point out that it seems like time travel magic is actually fairely simple to use, as Raiden, even under duress, manages to pull it off in 9. It's possible that the magic itself is banned on the grounds that messing with time is dangerous/it will piss Kronika off, thus Raiden only used it in this one instance as he left with no other options.

Maybe it's just the Back To The Future fan in me, but I also see this being similar to a Back To The Future II scenario, except that instead of Biff stealing the sports almanac and giving it to his younger self, in MK11 we see how Raiden messing with the timeline in MK9 has caused other things to happen in the timeline that otherwise would not have happened.
Therefore, Geras is probably trying to "fix" the anomaly / aberration in time that Raiden initially caused by going back at the end of Armageddon / MK9, while Kronika is trying to bend time to her will.

Perhaps I've also been watching too much of Legends of Tomorrow, as well, but it does feel like after MK9 Raiden "broke" time itself.

This could also explain why Raiden sent a cryptic message. He just said, "He must win!". I know he was short on time, as hammer was about to fall on him, but maybe he was cryptic, so someone wouldn't decode the message?

Cause yeah. Raiden who was beaten to a pulp and couldn't even stand, yet somehow managed to use time travel, like it was nothing. So yeah it is getting more and more likely that Kronika is coming to fix the mess. Can't wait for 17th. Man that would be badass if it turned out to be true.

Considering the leak, I'd say Chronica is actually there to screw up the timeline, not fix it.

Back to the bench press I go...

You're talking about

"Kronika, the Goddess of Time, will supposedly be the main antagonist who wants to destroy multiple timelines."

That's what I am talking about. A chaos. Raiden messing with time, could have caused some sort of rift, a crack. That caused numerous timelines to pop up. So Kronika could wish to destroy those alternate timelines, and make everything go back to one set timeline, where Shao Kahn wins and Armageddon happens.

Pretty much, this could turn into a Crisis on Infinite Earths type situation, with multiple fractured timelines/realities merging and combating each other as Kronika attempts to straighten everything out, albeit to the likely detriment to the new timeline, thus placing her in a villian role. It would be cool to see other timelines besides just the old ones, like worlds where Mileena ruled outworld unopposed, or where the Deadly Alliance actually succeeded, but that might going too far.

I mean why not? They don't need to show the world itself. They can just give the gear. Man the endless possibilities... Let's say Mileena.

There could be Mileene that like you said, has won the battle for the throne and succeeded her "father". Her outfit could be something of a female Shao Kahn. Same/similar helmer just without the skull mask, arms having the same guards.

Then there could be Edenia Mileena (from MK9 Kitana ending), there she helps her sister and Jade protect the Edenia. So she could have clothing reflecting her status as Edenian Royal Guard, etc.

Or let's go even crazier. There could be a timeline, where Mileena joins Earthrealm, and actually wears a custom style Special Forces gear and acts as a member of some sort of "Inter Realm" team.

Infinite possibilities.

That last one would be pretty wild, man I actually want to see that now (if she makes on the roster that is).

I mean it could make sense. If they are doing Injustice 2 type of gear system, then we might get something like Themed gear. "Special Forces Gear", "Edenia Gear", "Netherrealm Gear", "Chaos Realm Gear" you name it.

That could be the case.

If it's 7 Premiere skins, I'm wondering who those other characters would be and I think I'd prefer if those characters were fleshed out.

For example, as much as Frost could be a Sub-Zero Premiere skin (if they really wanted to), I'd rather see her fleshed out rather than just being a skin.
