I'm using by 8BitDo 2 wired controller on it, as I had gotten it a while ago and I prefer the D-pad on there vs the default Xbox clicky D-pad.

Well, I can trust that NRS will definitely give crossplay for consoles, so you guys will be able to play together, pretty soon.

To be fair, though, unless it's Forza (convoy), TMNT: Shredder's Revenge or a quick game of Gang Beasts, about 99.9% of my time when I game it's SP modes in games mainly because I play late night after a long day or just shut my brain off for a while.
Nothing against anyone here, but (in general) MKX turned me off to playing online and I haven't played a NRS game online ever since.

Most of the time when I come home I'll do another run of some of the Dishonored entries (excited as shit that Dishonored 3 was leaked in those Microsoft court documents, btw) or TMNT: Shredder's Revenge (the DLC for that is also pretty sweet) or a even a few matches in MK1 by randomizing the CPU on hard difficulty and practicing.

If you shut off your brain for a bit and do actual fighting in MK1 and not the grindy shit (which I've already done the trick to quickly level up the whole roster to 16 and the kameos to level 11) it can otherwise be fun. Finished up Invasion mode within 6 days to get the skins, too.
(I did the grindy shit first because I sure as fuck ain't paying $20 extra to unlock 5 goddamn kameos and another $8 each to unlock Havik and Shang Tsung, and I wanted to have all of the Fatalities / Brutalities readily available to me.)

You're smoking some good shit NRS if you think I'm gonna pay an additional $36 on top of the price for the base game to unlock the 5 kameos, Havik and Shang Tsung. Fuck outta here with that shit. On top of that the DLC characters are $8 now?
Happy as shit that I just got the regular version.
I can just try the DLC characters for free if they show up in a Tower by using Shang Tsung.

Oh yeah, they are charging for characters you can unlock game. So like it was with Frost in MK11. Ahahaha.

I get yah about online. I have no issue learning online, even if it is incredibly competitive. But MKX started the "sweaty" esports mentality. You go online, and you find terminally online players, who use only one or two tactics to get a win. Which means you have to play along. And I find no joy in that.

Same was with MK11. When I gave Kombat League a try, I just used Frost. Once I learned the "meta", which was constant zoning/teleport, all I had to do was just use Frost to counter that. Her full screen projectiles and a shield made it easy for me to counter any shitty meta. Which obviously put Frost into S tier.

And even though I was winning... it was BORING. This is why I miss MK 3D. Shit was way more chaotic and it wasn't just combo fests, but actual footsies, dodges. Not to mention stages that either had no boundaries or would become smaller, while you play. Adding that additional element of fun. Now it is just... look at my combo strings. Cool. So I will just use the same thing and we will be showing off combo strings to each other. How about some.... fun?

Yeah, I'm not paying extra if I don't have to.
I might just pick up the DLC kameos like Ferra, Mavado, Tremor and Khameleon (depending on what they charge for those), since they could change up the meta and add something to the characters that I'm already labbing, and they're also not technically full characters.

Yeah, and I also find no joy in playing like that.
Instead, I prefer to find things out myself while I'm either labbing or playing on my own like.....

- how Li Mei & kameo Sub-Zero go well together (imo) because kameo Sub-Zero can give you an ice shield against projectiles or the freeze to set up other moves, or even how Up+kameo with kameo Scorpion can help to get additional hits in and control the other area of the stage.

- or how Kenshi & kameo Frost are also cool because you can do the Snowflake or Ground Freeze move with Frost to control the space and allow you to set up the Sento Stance with Kenshi.
 
I'm still having a bomb ass time with the game. I haven't had this much fun just labbing shit since MKX. Like yesterday I was messing around with Mileena and found out she can actually combo off of Goro's unblockable.


I've no idea how a Mileena would actually set this up, but its still fun lol
 
Some people are losing their shit over kameo Janet Cage from the WB press release. :ROFLMAO:
Out of all of the weird shit that was in Chapter 15 of story mode, that's 1 of the more sane things, imo.
My personal guess is that klassic kameo Johnny Cage will be an alternate skin like how kameo Sonya has an alternate MK3 skin, and all this bitching and complaining will be for nothing.
Kameos have 0 voice lines and limited things that they do depending on the character, so it shouldn't be a big deal anyways.
I could see this being a bigger issue if it was a main roster character that got a change like that, but kameos?.........Like, who the hell had Darrius on their kameo bingo card when MK1 was initially announced.

I think the issue what people are having is the false marketing element. Regardless what part of it.

Normally I would have agreed with people. How can you trust company with your money, if they change content post announcement? People pay money for that pack. Some bought Premium edition, just for kombat pack. So it is a dick move.

But... like I said. I would HAVE agreed. Past tense.

Now just enjoy what you get. You still pay for it. So all of the complaining is just hilarious at this point.

Once again, NRS is taking this guest character thing too far. Omni-Man looks cool but he doesn't fit with the martial arts aesthetic of this game. It's a borderline dealbreaker for me. And Peacemaker is going to be even more of an oddball.

This is why I don't bother with premium editions for NRS stuff, in the first place.
There's no need to reward them for extra unnecessary shit, imo.
Guests that I don't want, 1 week early and a shitty knock-off Van Damme skin? Lol.

There was someone literally saying in 1 of the reddit threads that they paid for the premium edition specifically FOR the Johnny Cage kameo and I legit let out a belly laugh. :ROFLMAO:

Plus, again, for all we know it's either a typo or it'll be this kameo Janet Cage and then a secondary kameo Johnny skin just like how we have kameo MK1 Sonya and kameo MK3 Sonya, so there's a chance that all of this bitching is just going to end up as a nothing burger.
The hit box on a secondary gender kameo wouldn't be a big issue and the kameos literally have 0 speaking lines.

Eh, it is always nothing burger, now.

They can release a barely playable game and people would STILL buy it and DEFEND it. They can shit on people any day, anytime and people won't do anything, cause they know that there will always be people that will buy their stuff. Hell same people bitching about it, will buy it.

It is very likely that they were planning Johnny Cage first (hence why his name is on multiple stores) but now changed to Janet Cage. This "game" is rushed and they are still putting together DLC packs. Not that it matters. People will still support this. WB already saw that people were stupid enough to buy the game, just after watching cinematic trailer. Next time, they will show cinematic trailer and set up pre-orders, before the game is even finished... oh wait... they just did that.

Case closed.

So... more NRS bullshit:
- Inputs are completely fucked. Seems to happen on PS5.
- On PC every time the game crashes, it creates a bloated dump, like 400mb each. One dude had 30gb worth.

4 years of the most sweaty, hardcore AAA development, with a trillion dollar Pedowood WB backing. But hey, have you seen that Noob Saibot reference in the Capeshit-man fatality??? Omegerd
